Radio Veritas 846, the leading faith-based AM radio station in the Philippines, is inviting all the Catholic faithful to profess their pledge of devotion to Sacred Heart of Jesus at the Our Lady of Veritas Chapel in Quezon City on June 8.
Sacred Heart is often depicted in Christian art as a flaming heart shining with divine light, pierced by the lance-wound, encircled by the crown of thorns, surmounted by a cross, and bleeding.
The image shows a shining within the bosom of Christ with his wounded hands pointing at the heart. The wounds and crown of thorns allude to the manner of Jesus’ death, while the fire represents the transformative power of divine love.
Devotion to the Sacred Heart is one of the most widely practiced and well-known Roman Catholic devotions, and concerned with what the Church deems to be the long-suffering love and compassion of the heart of Christ towards humanity.
On June 8, the faithful may send their prayer requests, petitions, thanksgiving and other intentions, especially for workers, which will be offered at the Healing Mass by 12 noon to be presided by Rev. Fr. Ricky Omol. Devotees will receive an image of Sacred Heart of Jesus and pledge of devotion certificate.
Radio Veritas President Rev. Fr. Anton CT Pascual invites all the Catholic faithful to deepen and strengthen their faith and pray for all the clergy and consecrated persons by professing their devotion for Sacred Heart of Jesus.
“As faithful stewards, we must prepare ourselves for the coming of our Lord through Sacred Heart of Jesus by means of our prayers. Let us also include our clergy and consecrated persons who are sacrificing their lives to bring and unite us with the Almighty Father,” Fr. Pascual said.
Faithful are encouraged to give a PHP500.00 donation pledge in support of the social communications ministry of the Catholic Church. They may hand-over their pledge along with their prayer intention to Mr. Lawrence Valdez, Religious Department Associate at the second floor of Veritas Tower in 162 West Avenue cor.
