Gospel Reading for January 22, 2026 – Mark 3: 7-12
IMPRESSIVE
Jesus withdrew toward the sea with his disciples. A large number of people followed from Galilee and from Judea. Hearing what he was doing, a large number of people came to him also from Jerusalem, from Idumea, from beyond the Jordan, and from the neighborhood of Tyre and Sidon. He told his disciples to have a boat ready for him because of the crowd, so that they would not crush him. He had cured many and, as a result, those who had diseases were pressing upon him to y touch him. And whenever unclean spirits saw him they would fall down before him and shout, “You are the Son of God.” He warned them sternly not to make him known.

Jesus had a large number of followers from many different parts of Israel. His teachings, works, and way of life were so IMPRESSIVE that people came from all over the land to see and hear him. In short, to experience him. If he were living in our generation and had a presence on social media, his followers would most likely far exceed the estimated 2.4 billion Christians in the world today.
This is the challenge for all of us as Christians: to help people become followers of Jesus—not only by reading the Bible, but by living in such a way that, through our lives, Jesus is seen as truly IMPRESSIVE.
Lord Jesus, may our lives always be a reflection of yours!
