UNANG PAGBASA
Santiago 1, 12-18

Pagbasa mula sa sulat ni Apostol Santiago

Mapalad ang taong nananatiling tapat, sa kabila ng mga pagsubok; sapagkat matapos siyang subukin, tatanggap siya ng putong. Ito’y ang buhay na ipinangako ng Panginoon sa mga umiibig sa kanya. Huwag sabihin ninuman kapag siya’y dumaranas ng pagsubok, na tinutukso siya ng Diyos. Sapagkat ang Diyos ay hindi matutukso ng masama at hindi naman niya tinutukso ang sinuman. Natutukso ang tao kapag siya’y naakit at napatangay sa sariling pita. Kapag ang pita ay tumubo at nag-ugat, nagbubunga ito ng pagkakasala. Kapag lumala ang kasalanan, ito’y nagbubunga ng kamatayan.

Huwag kayong padaya, mga kapatid kong minamahal. Bawat kaloob na mabuti at ganap ay buhat sa langit, mula sa Ama na lumikha ng mga tanglaw sa langit. Hindi niya tayo iniiwan o binabayaan man sa dilim. Niloob niyang tayo’y maging anak niya sa pamamagitan ng salita ng katotohanan, upang matangi tayo at maging higit sa lahat ng kanyang mga nilalang.

Mapalad ang tumatanggap
ng aral ng Poong tapat.

Mapalad ang mga taong tumatanggap ng pangaral,
silang sa ’yo’y tumatanggap ng turo sa kautusan.
Pagkat sila’y magdaranas ng saglit na ginhawa,
hanggang yaong masasama’y mahulog sa hukay nila.

Mapalad ang tumatanggap
ng aral ng Poong tapat.

Ang lingkod ng Panginoo’y hindi niya iiwanan,
yaong mga hirang niya’y hindi niya tatalikdan;
mababalik sa matuwid ang ganap na katarungan,
diwang ito ang susundin ng tapat ang pamumuhay.

Mapalad ang tumatanggap
ng aral ng Poong tapat.

Kapag aking nagunitang, “Ang paa ko’y dumudulas,”
dahilan sa pag-ibig mo, O Diyos, ako’y tumatatag.
Kung ako ay ginugulo ng maraming suliranin,
ang wagas na pag-ibig mo ang sa aki’y umaaliw.

MABUTING BALITA
Marcos 8, 14-21

Ang Mabuting Balita ng Panginoon ayon kay San Marcos

Noong panahong iyon, nalimutan ng mga alagad na magdala ng tinapay, at iisa lang ang kanilang tinapay sa bangka. “Kaiingat kayo! Ilagan ninyo ang lebadura ng mga Pariseo at ang lebadura ni Herodes,” babala ni Hesus sa kanila. Nag-usap-usap ang mga alagad, “Wala kasi tayong dalang tinapay kaya niya sinabi iyon.” Alam ito ni Hesus, kaya’t sila’y tinanong niya, “Bakit ninyo pinag-uusapan na kayo’y walang dalang tinapay? Hindi pa ba kayo nakababatid o nakauunawa? Hindi pa ba ito abot ng inyong isip? Wala ba kayong mata? Wala ba kayong tainga? Nakalimutan na ba ninyo nang paghati-hatiin ko ang limang tinapay para sa limanlibo? Ilang bakol ang napuno ninyo sa mga lumabis na tinapay?” “Labindalawa po,” tugon nila. ‘At nang paghati-hatiin ko ang pitong tinapay para sa apatnalibo, ilang bakol na malalaki ang napuno ninyo?” tanong niya. “Pitong bakol po,” tugon nila. “At hindi pa rin ninyo nauunawaan?” wika niya.

PANALANGIN NG BAYAN
Ikaanim na Linggo sa Karaniwang Panahon
Martes

Natitipon tayo bilang sambayanan ng Diyos; dalhin natin ang ating mga pangangailangan sa Ama, panatag ang ating kalooban na tayo’y kanyang pagbibigyan.

Panginoon, dinggin Mo ang aming panalangin.
o kaya
Maibiging Ama, akayin Mo kami sa iyong pamamaraan.

Ang ating mga pastol sa Simbahan nawa’y italaga nang buong-buo ang kanilang buhay sa pagpapahayag ng Ebanghelyo sa pamamagitan ng kanilang pagsaksi sa kanilang buhay, manalangin tayo sa Panginoon.

Ang mga magulang at guro nawa’y maging mga buhay na huwaran ng pananampalataya sa mga taong nasa kanilang pag-aaruga, manalangin tayo sa Panginoon.

Tayong lahat nawa’y maibigay ang lahat ng ating makakaya para gawin ang nararapat at nawa ang Salita ng Diyos ang siyang magbigay sa atin ng lakas para sa anumang gagawin natin, manalangin tayo sa Panginoon.

Tayong lahat nawa’y magpakita ng malasakit sa mga matatanda, mga nalulumbay, at mga maysakit, manalangin tayo sa Panginoon.

Ang mga yumao nawa’y makatagpo ng bagong buhay at kapahingahan sa Kaharian ng Diyos, manalangin tayo sa Panginoon.

Makalangit na Ama, palalimin mo ang aming pananampalataya upang lumago kami sa iyong pag-ibig at laging maglingkod sa iyo nang may mapagbigay at malinis na puso. Hinihiling namin ito sa pamamagitan ni Kristong aming Panginoon. Amen.

Kapanalig sa 15 ng impeachment trial ni Vice President Sara Duterte, hindi pa rin nabubutasan o napahina ng depensa ang prosecution theory at kumbinsihin ang Senado na ang kaso sa confidential fund laban sa pangalawang pangulo ay mahina at fishing expedition lamang.

Simple lamang ang problema ni VP Duterte, kahit anong objection., kahit anong cross-examination sa witness ng prosekusyon na si COA auditor Xylene del Campo, hindi maipaliwanag ng defense lawyers kung saan ginastos ng Office of the Vice President at Department of Education ang 612.5-milyong pisong confidential fund.

Kapag pera ng bayan ang pinag-uusapan, hindi dahilan ang confidential., saan mo ginastos?
Sa napakahabang cross examination sa prosecution witness, malinaw ang kawalan ng accountability sa panig ni VP Duterte.

Ang hindi masagot na tanong., nasaan ang sapat na dokumentasyon? Ano ang confidential operations na pinondohan?

Paano napatunayan na lehitimo at successful ang mga operasyon?Kung ibinigay ng accountable officer ang pera sa ibang tao, sino ang nakakaalam kung saan talaga napunta ang milyun-milyong pisong cash?

Hindi rin maipaliwanag at walang documentary evidence ang kampo ni VP Duterte na ang kinukuwestiyong pera ng taumbayan ay ginastos tama sang-ayon sa tunay na layunin ng confidential fund.

Kapanalig, pilit mang giniba ang kredibilidad ni del Campo, umalis siya sa witness stand nang hindi nabubutas ang pangunahing problema ng audit.,kulang ang substantiation, mga dokumento at tumibay ang pagdidiin ng prosekusyon kung sino ang may pananagutan.

Kung malinis at hindi ginastos ng personal ni VP Duterte ang confindential fund., nasaan ang resibo?
Ang masakit na katotohanan, kung nawala na ang pananagutan, hindi na maituturing na maliit ang problema, maaring ang kabuuang paggasta sa 612.5-milyong pisong confidential fund ay mali, iligal na ginamit ang pondo.

Kapanalig, hindi puwedeng gastusin ng isang opisyal ng pamahalaan ang milyun-milyong pisong pera ng bayan at ikatwirang confidential kasunod ng kawalan ng pananagutan. Hindi maaring confidential ang sagot sa bawat tanong. Pera yan ng taumbayan, kailangan mong ipaliwanag kung nasaan napunta ang pera, at bakit nararapat at legal ang paggasta ng pondo.

Kapanalig, kung maayos ang paggamit ng pondo, simple lang ang dapat ipakita ni VP Duterte sa COA. Ang confidential na aktibidad? Magkano ang ginamit na pondo? Ano ang otoridad na gastusin ang salapi? Nasaan ang mga dokumento na nag-uugnay sa pera sa ginawang programa? Malinaw sa auditing hindi sapat na sabihing may operasyon? Pambabastos ito sa taumbayan.

Sinasabi ng ROMANS 3:19 – “Now we know that whatever the Law says, it speaks to those who are under the Law, so that every mouth may be closed and all the world may become accountable to God”.
Ayon naman sa Proverbs 27:17, “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”

WORK OF LOVE

Some Pharisees approached Jesus, and tested him, saying, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any cause whatever?” He said in reply, “Have you not read that from the beginning the Creator made them male and female and said, For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, man must not separate.” They said to him, “Then why did Moses command that the man give the woman a bill of divorce and dismiss her?” He said to them, “Because of the hardness of your hearts Moses allowed you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so. I say to you, whoever divorces his wife (unless the marriage is unlawful) and marries another commits adultery.” His disciples said to him, “If that is the case of a man with his wife, it is better not to marry.” He answered, “Not all can accept this word, but only those to whom that is granted. Some are incapable of marriage because they were born so; some, because they were made so by others; some, because they have renounced marriage for the sake of the Kingdom of heaven. Whoever can accept this ought to accept it.”

As Jesus explained, marriage is not for everyone, because it is a lifelong journey in which two persons, raised differently and coming from different families, are brought together by God in Holy Matrimony and become ONE.

In this sacrament, the couple is showered with all the graces they need to make their union a beautiful WORK OF LOVE designed by God—a union in which they live under one roof, remain faithful to one another, support and care for one another, and honor each other’s dignity. In this sacred relationship, they strive not to allow their differences to separate them, but rather to adjust to one another, so that they may truly become ONE.

Through constant communication, they gradually develop a language all their own, where disagreements can lead to understanding and, ultimately, to agreement. If they are blessed with children, who are the fruit of their union, they are given the precious opportunity to serve the world by raising them according to God’s will.

There are countless experiences that unfold within this sacred union, which is why LOVE is essential for it to flourish and endure. St. Paul’s beautiful description of LOVE in 1 Corinthians 13:1–13 expresses this truth perfectly. As the saying goes, LOVE conquers all.

Some sectors are advocating for the legalization of divorce in the Philippines, a nation that is home to the largest Christian population in Asia. From a Christian perspective, the legalization of divorce raises serious concerns because it is difficult to reconcile with the Christian understanding of marriage as a sacred and lifelong covenant before God.

Lord Jesus, help us to be faithful to the vows we make, whatever our state of life may be. Amen.

O God our loving Father,
help us to always remember -
our origins and beginnings,
our past especially
the people who had cared
and nurtured us,
our parents and siblings,
relatives and friends,
those who gave us 
the breaks and sparks
to begin our great journeys in life,
the people who stood by
when we were down
and nobody believed us:
dear God,
remind us always
of the basic fact,
of the principle and foundation
of our being:
that we came from you
and shall return to you.
Forgive us,
Lord God,
in forgetting you always,
in forgetting others,
in forgetting
we are nothing without you;
touch us,
