ASSURED
The Commemoration of All
the Faithful Departed (All Souls)
“Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many rooms; if that were not so, I would have told you, because I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I am coming again and will take you to Myself, so that where I am, there you also will be. And you know the way where I am going.” Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going; how do we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Me.

When we wish to buy a certain property very badly, but are still in the process of acquiring enough funds, we propose to the owner of the property to pay earnest money, so the owner may reserve the property for us up to such a period, and not sell it to others. Even if the earnest money is big, we are willing for it to be forfeited if the period lapses and we do not have enough money yet to pay for the property in full. This is because we are sure we will be able to raise the funds in time.
Surely, acquiring a place in heaven is PRICELESS. And imagine, it is the Son of God who will be preparing (reserving) a place for us. There is no earnest money needed because Salvation, or the entry pass to the place is freely given by Jesus to all of us who sincerely do our best to follow him who is the WAY, the TRUTH and the LIFE. With Jesus, we are ASSURED of a place in his/our Father’s house as we continue living with Jesus while on earth!
Let us ponder on this very old song, MY FATHER’S HOUSE –
Oh, come and go with me to my Father’s house,
to my Father’s house, to my Father’s house.
Oh, come and go with me to my Father’s house,
where there’s joy, joy, joy.
Jesus is the way to my Father’s house,
to my Father’s house, to my Father’s house.
Jesus is the way to my Father’s house,
where there’s joy, joy, joy.
There’ll be no sorrow in my Father’s house,
in my Father’s house,
in my Father’s house.
There’ll be no sorrow in my Father’s house,
where there’s joy, joy, joy.
I’m on my way up there to my Father’s house,
to my Father’s house,
to my Father’s house.
I’m on my way up there to my Father’s house,
where there’s joy, joy, joy.
