Gospel Reading for October 19, 2025 – Luke 18: 1-8
AUTHOR OF WISDOM
Jesus told his disciples a parable about the necessity for them to pray always without becoming weary. He said, “There was a judge in a certain town who neither feared God nor respected any human being. And a widow in that town used to come to him and say, ‘Render a just decision for me against my adversary.’ For a long time the judge was unwilling, but eventually he thought, ‘While it is true that I neither fear God nor respect any human being, because this widow keeps bothering me I shall deliver a just decision for her lest she finally come and strike me.'” The Lord said, “Pay attention to what the dishonest judge says. Will not God then secure the rights of his chosen ones who call out to him day and night? Will he be slow to answer them? I tell you, he will see to it that justice is done for them speedily. But when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?”

The dishonest judge did not grant the prayer of the widow because it was just but because of her persistence. What more with a loving God who is just and who will always be willing to help those of us who call to him. The only challenge is if we have ENOUGH FAITH and TRUST in God, such that we are willing to wait for his time and accept the way he will answer our prayers. No one can be better than the AUTHOR OF WISDOM.
Let us ponder on this song written by Diane Ball, IN HIS TIME –
In his time, in his time;
He makes all things beautiful
in his time.
Lord please show me everyday
as you’re teaching me your way
that you do just what you say
in your time.
In your time, in your time;
You make all things beautiful
in your time.
Lord my life to you I bring;
May each song I have to sing
be to you a lovely thing
in your time.
