Gospel Reading for November 28, 2025 – Luke 21: 29-33
LOYAL FOLLOWERS
Jesus told his disciples a parable. “Consider the fig tree and all the other trees. When their buds burst open, you see for yourselves and know that summer is now near; in the same way, when you see these things happening, know that the Kingdom of God is near. Amen, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things have taken place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.”

The reading for today is a continuation of the reading yesterday where Jesus speaks about his second coming or what we call “the end of the world.” Why would Jesus second coming be called “the end of the world?”
Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega. In Greek alphabet, the beginning and the end. Jesus is eternally present – was present at the creation of the world and will be present when the world will finally come to an end. Through Jesus, God the Father made himself known to us in a very personal and loving way. It will also be through Jesus, that God’s ultimate plan for the world will be fulfilled.
This is why Jesus calls himself, the WAY, the TRUTH and the LIFE and that it is through him that we are able to go to the Father. How blessed are we who follow him up to the end because everything ends with him. We are assured of a place in heaven!
Lord Jesus, may we be your LOYAL FOLLOWERS up to the end of our lives on earth!
