Re: National Laity Week in Lingayen Dagupan

My dear people of God:

The Episcopal Commission on the Laity of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines has chosen the Archdiocese of Lingayen Dagupan as host for the observance of the 2016 National Laity Week.

The national observance will be held at the Saint John the Evangelist Cathedral in Dagupan City on September 24, Saturday, starting with a Mass at 8:30 am. After the Mass, former DPWH Secretary Rogelio Singson will deliver a talk on how his Catholic faith influenced his service to the nation as a Cabinet secretary.

In the afternoon, there will be three break up sessions for three workshop groups: The parish pastoral council leaders at the Kapilya de San Juan Hall; the family and life ministers at the Lay Formation Center in Bonuan Gueset and the catechists at the Cathedral.

All the catechists, the family and life ministers, the parish pastoral council leaders, BEC barangay chapel leaders, parish youth ministers and Pananabangan coordinators are requested to attend the Mass and participate in the break up sessions. Although merienda will served free, the Lingayen Dagupan delegates are kindly requested to bring their own lunch. There will be no fees to pay.

Let us avail of this opportunity before us to participate in a national event right within our archdiocese.

May God be glorified in the life and ministry of our Catholic laity!

Sincerely yours,

+SOCRATES B. VILLEGAS
Archbishop of Lingayen Dagupan
