Nakahanda na ang Archdiocese of Manla sa Episcopal Ordination ni Most.Rev.Rufino Coronel Sescon Jr., sa Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception Manila Metropolitan cathedral o kilala bilang Manila cathedral sa ika-25 ng Pebrero, 2025 ganap na alas-nuebe ng umaga.
Bishop elect Sescon ay itinagala ni Pope Francis bilang ikaapat na punong-pastol ng Diocese of Balanga, Bataan noong December 3, 2024 kapalit ni Bishop Ruperto Santos na inilipat ng Santo Papa na Obispo ng Diocese of Antipolo.
Tinanggap ng Bishop-elect ang Ordination to the Sacred Order of Presbyters noong September 19, 1998, on the Feast of Saint Januarius. Ang motto ng Obispo ay “Gracia”o grace. Inspired by St. Paul,the Bishop became a minister by the gift of God’s grace (Ephesians3:7) and called to bear witness to the Gospel of God’s grace (Acts 20:24). Ang motto is also inspired by the motto of his batch in San Carlos Seminary: “Everything is a grace” Romans 4:16 and St.Therese of Lisieux).
Ano ang ibig sabihin ng Obispo? Ang Obispo ay isang ecclesiastical dignitary ng Simbahang Katolika na nagtataglay ng “fullness” ng sacrament of Holy Orders upang pangangasiwaan at pamumunuan ang isang diyosesis bilang punong pastol. Ang Obispo ay nagsisilbing successors ng mga apostol (apostles) na itinalaga ng divine institution upang maging pastol ng kawan ng panginoon sa ilalim ng pamumuno ng Santo Papa, na siya namang successor ni St.Peter.
Si Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Socrates Villegas, D.D ang magiging principal consecrator ni Bishop-elect Jun Sescon at co-consecrator si Antipolo Bishop Ruperto Santos at Cubao Bishop Emeritus Honesto Ongtioco.
