Gospel Reading for July 30, 2025 – Matthew 13: 44-46
PRICELESS
Jesus said to his disciples: “The Kingdom of heaven is like a treasure buried in a field, which a person finds and hides again, and out of joy goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. Again, the Kingdom of heaven is like a merchant searching for fine pearls. When he finds a pearl of great price, he goes and sells all that he has and buys it.”

Everything in this world is perishable: people, flora and fauna. Even businesses do not exist forever. Rulers of Kingdoms? They also die. Celebrities? They are unable to sustain their popularity forever, and so on and so forth.
This is why the Kingdom of heaven is PRICELESS. It is worth more than anything there is in this world because it BELONGS TO ETERNAL LIFE. Church leaders come and go, but the Church continues to exist. CHURCHES BELONG TO ETERNAL LIFE because the God they worship is ETERNAL. We remember what Jesus said to Peter in Matthew 16: 18-19: “And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven.”
Lord Jesus, help us remain steadfast in our Faith in the midst of distractions and temptations in this world!
