Gospel Reading for July 05, 2026 – Matthew 11: 25-30
TRULY BELIEVE
At that time Jesus exclaimed: “I give praise to you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for although you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned you have revealed them to little ones. Yes, Father, such has been your gracious will. All things have been handed over to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son wishes to reveal him.”
“Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.”

As the Son of God, Jesus knows the Father perfectly and understands the deepest meaning of life. He lovingly invites us, “Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.” He then asks us to take upon ourselves his yoke, which is easy, and his burden, which is light.
If we TRULY BELIEVE that Jesus is the Son of God, we will confidently entrust all our burdens to him in times of trial, knowing that our responsibility is to do our very best while trusting him to accomplish what is beyond our power. This does not mean that life will be free from suffering, but that we never have to carry our burdens alone. When we walk with Christ, he gives us the grace, strength, and peace to endure every trial.
Those who easily fall into despair may have lost sight of this truth or have not yet learned to place their complete trust in him. This is why faith is so essential in our lives. Faith enables us to surrender our fears, our worries, and our future into the loving hands of the One who knows us better than we know ourselves and who desires only our good.
Lord Jesus, you are our light and our salvation. Teach us to trust in you completely, so that no burden may ever separate us from the peace that you alone can give.
