Ito ang mensahe ni Bishop-elect Raul Dael sa mga dumalo sa kanyang Episcopal Ordination na isinagawa sa Saint Augustine Metropolitan Cathedral sa Cagayan De Oro City.
Ayon kay Bishop Dael, ang patuloy na pasasalamat sa mga biyayang natatanggap ay nagpapabago sa kalooban ng bawat isa at nararapat lamang na ibahagi sa kanyang kapwa.
“And I think that it is in embracing the transition that we will able to discover the beauty of the gift. Many times we are afraid of our weaknesses but many times also we are afraid of our gifts. It is in embracing our gifts that we can conquer our weaknesses because the gift will transform us into becoming a better persons,” Bishop Dael.
Ang Episcopal Ordination ay pinangunahan ni Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle, kasama sina Cagayan De Oro Archbishop Antonio Ledesma, Tandag Bishop-emeritus Nereo Odchimar at mga obispo mula sa Luzon, Visayas at Mindanao.
Si Bishop Dael ang ikatlong obispo ng Tandag na siyang hahalili matapos ang pagreretiro ni Bishop Nereo Odchimar-dating pangulo ng Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) na nagsilbi sa diyosesis sa loob ng 17 taon.
“My beloved priests from Tandag with all the affection I will bring with me from Cagayan De Oro I will try as your bishop that you would be at home to cry with me. I might be the cause or not but we can cry together,” ayon kay Bishop Dael.
Si Bishop-elect Dael ay isinilang noong October 10, 1966, inordinahang pari sa edad na 27 at nagsilbi bilang Parochial vicar ng Saint Augustine Cathedral, parochial administrator ng St. Peter the Apostle Parish sa Misamis Occidental.
Nagsilbi rin si Bishop-elect Dael bilang director ng spiritual at pastoral formation ng St. John Vianney Seminary of Theology.
Bago itinalagang obispo, si Bishop-elect Dael ay nagsisilbi bilang Vicar for the Clergy ng Archdiocese of Cotabato.
Ang Diocese ng Tandag ay may higit sa 600 libong populasyon na may 80 porsiyento ng mga katoliko.
Ito ay binubuo ng 52 mga pari na nangagasiwa sa may 24 na parokya.
Sa kasalukuyan, siyam sa 86 na diyosesis at arkidiyosesis sa bansa ang ‘sede vacante’ o walang nakaupong obispo.
Nabakante ang Diyosesis ng Malolos dahil sa pagpanaw ni Malolos Bishop Jose Oliveros dahil sa sakit na ‘prostate cancer’ at ang Diocese ng Butuan dahil sa pagpanaw naman ni Bishop Juan de dios Pueblos sa sakit na pneumonia.
