“Our hearts are rent again by the deeply saddening news of the death of our kababayan Irma who was brutally raped in Saudi. Her noble intention to be an OFW to be able to provide for the needs of her family and loved ones and uplift their life has turned to tragedy. We in the CBCP ECMI condemn her violent rape and murder and seek justice,” bahagi ng pahayag ni Bishop Santos sa panayam ng Veritas Patrol.

“We ask our DOLE to investigate the recruitment agency and make them criminally accountable, to prosecute them. It should be noted that the first task of our Philippine embassies is to protect our OFW, to fight for human and labor rights, and to take good care of them. A female Filipino household service worker in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia has drifted into comatose condition after suffering assault and sexual abuse,” giit pa ni Bishop Santos sa Radyo Veritas.
