EVER THOUGHTFUL
Memorial of the Holy Guardian Angels
The disciples approached Jesus and said, “Who is the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven?” He called a child over, placed it in their midst, and said, “Amen, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will not enter the Kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven. And whoever receives one child such as this in my name receives me.
“See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that their angels in heaven always look upon the face of my heavenly Father.”
————
Does this mean that for each one of us an angel is assigned to guard us, and that the angels assigned to children always look upon the face of the Father because those they are assigned to guard still have the attributes of God in them? While those assigned to us adults are busy guarding us from all evils because we sometimes lose the attributes of God in us? Just thinking . . .
But yes, the guardian angels are meant to guard us especially from the evil one/s. That is, if we make efforts to faithfully follow Jesus. Our EVER THOUGHTFUL Father does everything to make sure that we will never perish; and no one will snatch us out of Jesus’ hand and his hand (John 10: 28-29).
Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God’s love commits me here, ever this day be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen.
