Maituturing na “renewal of the mission” para sa pananampalatayang Katoliko ang pagiging host ng Pilipinas sa nalalapit na World Apostolic Congress on Mercy o WACOM4 sa January 2017.
Ayon kay Father Patrice Chocholski, Secretary general ng WACOM, malaki ang bahagi ng mga Filipinong katoliko sa pagbuhay at pagpapalakas ng pananamplataya sa buong Asya at sa ibat-ibang bahagi ng mundo.
“I think the message is the message of evangelization. Philippines is the most Catholic country in Asia. Asia is the growing and emerging continent. That’s why it tells, you’re the future of the world so with China of course and so, we need the Filipino mission not only in Asia ,in China but also in the whole world,” pahayag ng Pari sa Radio Veritas.
Kinilala din ng pari na tunay na malaki ang nagagawa ng mga Filipino sa renewal of Catholic faith lalu na ang presensiya ng mga Filipino migrants.
“Maybe it’s a sign that in a whole world there are Filipino immigrants, eventually. I witnessed that in the Netherlands and Austria and the Bishops or auxiliary bishops of Amsterdam told me that in the past ten years that they thought that they would close churches they would finished some celebrations and with coming of Filipino immigrants there is a renewal of Catholic faith,” pagdag pa ng Pari.
Iginiit din niya na ang gagawing WACOM 4 sa Pilipinas ay paalala na ang mga Filipino ang kinabukasan ng makabagong ebanghelisasyon saan mang sulok ng mundo.
“So I would say the most important message is your responsibility as Filipinos for the future of the evangelization. As we know the Gospel came from Asia. In Middle East and also the renewal of the mission, I believe in that, that will come from Asia. From that also because you have a long experience in inter-religious dialogue and all what we need now in our world,” patunay ni Father Chocholski sa Radio Veritas.
Gaganapin sa ika-16 hanggang ika-20 ng Enero 2017 ang WACOM 4 sa bansa una sa Manila Cathedral, sa ikalawang araw sa University of Sto tomas o UST, ikatlong araw sa National Shrine of Padre Pio sa Santo Tomas Batangas, ikaapat na araw sa National Shrine of the Divine Mecry sa Diocese ng Malolos, ikalimang araw sa Diyosesis ng Balanga sa Bataan.
Kasabay nito kinumpirma din ni Father Prospero Tenorio secretary General ng WACOM- Asia na umaabot na sa 4,035 ang mga nagrehistrong delegado sa WACOM 4 at extended pa hanggang ika-15 ng Disyembre ang online at walk -in registration.
Ang WACOM ay isang international event para sa Divine Mercy devotees na unang ipinakilala sa Vatican noong ika-2 hanggang ika- 6 ng Enero 2008 at mula noong ikatlong taon ng death anniversary ni St. Pope John Paul II ay isinasagawa na mula sa iba’t-ibang bansa tuwing ikatlong taon.
