Pambihira ang pagpapahalaga at ganap na pag-aalala ni Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI sa sikolohikal at ispirituwal na aspeto ng buhay ng bawat mamamayan lalu na ang pinaka-maliliit na sektor ng lipunan.
Ito ang bahagi ng pagninilay ni Military Ordinariate of the Philippines Bishop Oscar Jaime Florencio sa isinagawang Requiem Mass ng Military Diocese para sa yumaong dating Santo Papa sa Shrine of St. Therese of the Child Jesus sa Villamor, Pasay City.
Inalala ng Obispo ang pagiging mabuting pastol ng dating Santo Papa na nanindigan sa pagsusulong ng katotohanan at kabutihan ng mamamayan.
Pinuri ni Bishop Florencio ang pagiging mahusay na manunulat ni Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI partikular na ang Encyclical Letter na Caritas in Veritate.
Sa encyclical letter, hinamon ng dating Santo Papa ang mga opisyal ng pamahalaan na panatilihin ang pangangalaga sa kapakanan at integridad ng bawat tao hindi ang pera o kayamanan.
Nilinaw ng Obispo na dahil sa paninindigan ni Pope Benedict XVI sa katotohanan ay walang basehan ang mga paratang na pagkukubli ng katotohanan sa kontrobersyal na usapin ng pang-aabuso na kinasasangkutan ng ilang mga lingkod ng Simbahan.
“Whenever we go back to what he wrote, what he said in his homilies we will always find that he was in defense of the truth. In fact these encyclical of Caritas in Veritate is a prominent importance also because there he would defend what is true because for him truth is all about God, truth is all about the eternal God and Creator. That is why we cannot truly accused him of saying that he was trying to cover-up with the weaknesses and the sins of people who have made some kind of abuses especially priest, especially bishops in that time where he was the Holy Father.” pagninilay ni Bishop Florencio.
Hinikayat naman ng Obispo ang bawat isa na ipanalangin at ipagpasalamat sa Panginoon ang pagkakaloob sa Simbahan kay Pope Benedict XVI.
Pagbabahagi ni Bishop Florencio bagamat may mga kahinaan ding taglay si Pope Benedict XVI tulad ng bawat isang nilalang ng panginoon.
“As we remember Pope Benedict XVI in this Holy Mass let us thanked the Father for giving us this Pope, for giving us the saintly Pope, he was a pastor, he is a shepherd of the flock, at the same time also a father of us all because truly a father brings children to the lights, brings the children to the truth and if we go back to the teachings and to the writings of Pope Benedict XVI we know that really he was a real shepherd, a real father for all of us, there might be some kind of weaknesses that we find in him, it means that he was a human being like you and me.” Dagdag pa ni Bishop Florencio
Samantala, muli ring binigyang diin ni Bishop Florencio ang Episcopal Motto ni Pope Benedict XVI na “Cooperatores Veritatis” o Cooperators of the Truth na isang patuloy na panawagan sa bawat isa upang maging katuwang ng Simbahan sa pagpapalaganap ng katotohanan sa sanlibutan.
Makalipas ang halos 8-taong pagsisilbi bilang pinunong pastol ng Simbahan mula ng maihalal noong April 19, 2005 kasunod ng pagpanaw ni St. Pope John Paul II ay nagbitiw sa kanyang tungkulin si Pope Benedict XVI noong February 28, 2013 dahil sa kanyang karamdaman at mahinang pangangatawan.
