Born in Antioch, c. 347, Saint John Chrysostom (Golden-mouthed) was perhaps the greatest preacher in the history of the Church, thus the name given him, and the most prominent Greek father of the Church.
He grew up in Antioch, received an excellent classical Greek education, and upon meeting the holy bishop Meletus, he decided to devote his time to the study of religious works and the Sacred Scriptures. He received Baptism after three years of study and set out for the desert to live the ascetic life of a hermit.
Chrysostom’s many writings, especially homilies and commentaries on the Gospels, are still extant and have exerted great influence over the centuries.

Someone called my attention today to the tragic case of Caleb Flynn in the United States—a Christian worship pastor recently convicted of murdering his wife, Ashley, while their two young daughters were at home. Evidence presented at the trial also revealed an extramarital relationship. He has now been sentenced to life imprisonment without parole.
It is difficult to imagine the wounds left behind, especially in the lives of the children: a mother violently taken from them, and a father responsible for her death.
The story struck me because I am presently in Rome for our meeting marking ten years of Amoris Laetitia, reflecting precisely on how the Church proclaims the Gospel with families today.
Earlier, Pope Leo XIV asked us: “What kind of Church do people encounter precisely when they are most fragile?”
Cases like this remind us that “family fragility” is not an abstract pastoral category. Sometimes behind the doors of a seemingly Christian home are relationships already being torn apart by infidelity, deception, abuse, violence, loneliness or despair.
And accompaniment cannot mean simply keeping a family together at all costs. It must also mean learning to recognize danger, protecting the vulnerable, especially children, confronting wrongdoing with truth, and helping wounded people find justice, healing and hope.
Perhaps this too is part of proclaiming the Gospel to and with families: helping our homes become places where love is not merely preached, but truly lived—and where those who are wounded know that the Church will not look away

ULTIMATE GOAL
When Jesus had driven out a demon, some of the crowd said: “By the power of Beelzebul, the prince of demons, he drives out demons.” Others, to test him, asked him for a sign from heaven. But he knew their thoughts and said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself will be laid waste and house will fall against house. And if Satan is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? For you say that it is by Beelzebul that I drive out demons. If I, then, drive out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your own people drive them out? Therefore they will be your judges. But if it is by the finger of God that I drive out demons, then the Kingdom of God has come upon you. When a strong man fully armed guards his palace, his possessions are safe. But when one stronger than he attacks and overcomes him, he takes away the armor on which he relied and distributes the spoils. Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters. “When an unclean spirit goes out of someone, it roams through arid regions searching for rest but, finding none, it says, ‘I shall return to my home from which I came.’ But upon returning, it finds it swept clean and put in order. Then it goes and brings back seven other spirits more wicked than itself who move in and dwell there, and the last condition of that man is worse than the first.”

One thing is certain—Beelzebul/Satan can never be more powerful than God. Therefore, he would be of no use to Jesus, the Son of God.
Satan’s ULTIMATE GOAL is always to destroy what belongs to God, which is why he possesses humans who are created by God in his image and likeness. He is SO DESPERATE to destroy God’s image. Why, then, would he destroy himself? It would defeat his ULTIMATE GOAL.

Hindi pa rin natatapos ang multi-bilyong pisong flood control projects scam.,nahaharap na naman tayong mga Pilipino sa kinatatakutang matinding epekto ng climate change tulad ng El Nino phenomenon na nagdudulot ng matinding init at tagtuyot. Sa kasalukuyan, 106 na lungsod at munisipalidad sa buong bansa ang apektado ng tagtuyot.
May pag-asa ba tayong mga Pilipino? May nababanaag pa kaya tayong liwanag?
