Radio Veritas, the leading faith-based AM station in the Mega Manila, continues its commitment to charity and public service through “Good Samaritan”.

Since it was launched last July until August 31, 2017, Radio Veritas have listed 182 cases of pleads and requests that have been fulfilled through the Good Samaritan program.

On the first week of August, Peter (not his real name) a tricycle driver has sent a text message through the Veritas textline. He asked for help during the program of Good Samaritan anchored by Mr Dennis “Ka Dune” Geron. His wife, Evelyn (not her real name) was an Overseas Filipino Worker in Kuwait and has been maltreated by his employers.

Ka Dune with the Good Samaritan staff immediately coordinated the appeal with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, Advocacy & Social Marketing Division Officer-in-charge Ms. Josephine Sanchez Tobia, for the repatriation of Peter’s wife. On August 20, 2017, Evelyn was successfully repatriated and reunited with Peter and their three children.

In an interview through Good Samaritan, Peter have shared his gratitude to all those who have saved his wife from the abuses of her employers.

Mabuhay Kayong lahat God bless us all!” Peter said.

The Good Samaritan serves as a platform for those in need to make on-air appeals for legal or spiritual advice, medical, material and financial assistance, and link them to “Good Samaritans”. It airs every Monday to Friday from 1pm-2pm.

According to the Good Samaritan staff, as of August 2017, the program has given financial and medical assistance to 111 individuals and funeral aide to 71 families. Currently, the program is helping another repatriation case and is continuously accepting pleas and requests from those who are in need.

Rev Fr. Anton CT Pascual, Radio Veritas President expressed his gratitude to the donors who have been instrument of God’s love and Mercy.

“Within two months we have amassed efforts and donations that have helped our Kapanalig through Good Samaritan. This would not be possible without the help of Samaritans with open arms and without hesitation tapped Radio Veritas as its avenue of charity. May we reach more of our brothers and sisters who are less fortunate and in need of love, assistance and care,” Fr. Pascual added.

To all those who want to make an appeal  or send help, you may visit Radio Veritas station located at 162 West Avenue corner, EDSA, Quezon City or you may call the Kapanalig hotline 925-7931 to 40 or email at [email protected], or through the station’s Facebook page, www.facebook.com/Veritasph.
