Nananawagan ang isang eksperto sa Malacañang na huwag kaladkarin ang Simbahan sa ‘Destabilization Plot’ laban sa Administrasyong Duterte.
Ayon kay Fr. Ranhilio Aquino, Vice President ng Cagayan State University, ito ay kung tunay ang hangarin ng Malacañang sa pakikipagkasundo sa Simbahan Katolika.
“If the Government wants sincere dialogue with Church, then should stop that characterizing the Church as a participant if not the Leader in the Destabilization Plot will not Prosper Dialogue at all. People should come to the negotiating table with open hearts and open hands,” ayon kay Fr. Aquino sa panayam sa Radio Veritas.
Unang umani ng batikos ang pahayag ng pangulong Duterte na ‘God is Stupid.’
Sa kabila nito, nagkasundo ang magkabilang panig para sa pagbubukas ng dayalogo.
Ayon kay Presidential Secretary Harry Roque, itinakda sa July 9 ang pagkikita ng pangulong Duterte at ni CBCP president, Davao Archbishop Romulo Valles.
Samantala, umalma naman si Father Aquino sa mga pumupuna sa kaniyang pagtanggap bilang miyembro ng Consultative Committee ng Federal Charter.
Paglilinaw ng pari, humingi siya ng payo kina Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle at Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Socrates Villegas bago tinanggap ang posisyon.
“They made very clear to me, sabi nila it is better that there is the voice of a Church in that committee. That’s why I accepted to be part of the committee,” ayon kay Fr. Aquino sa panayam ng Veritas Pilipinas.
Nilinaw ni Father Aquino na mga independent at hindi tumatanggap ng utos ang mga miyembro ng consultative committee kay Pangulong Duterte.
“None of us was working there on orders of president Duterte, of course we are all appointed by the president. But drafting a constitution is the task of legislature the president can only submit a proposal and that what he asked us to draft.” paglilinaw ni Father Aquino
Noong 1986, kabilang sa 50 miyembro ng Constitutional Commission si Novaliches Bishop-emeritus Teodoro Bacani Jr. sa mga nagbalangkas ng 1987 Constitution na nanatiling umiiral sa Bansa sa loob ng tatlong dekada.
Sa katuruan ng Simbahan, nagsisilbing tinig ang Simbahan ng mamamayan upang maging balanse ang Relihiyon at ang Moralidad ng Publiko.
