Si Hesus at si Mama Mary ang simbulo ng bagong yugto ng buhay ni Archbishop Martin Jumoad, ang bagong Arsobispo ng Archdiocese ng Ozamiz.
Ayon sa dating Obispo ng Prelatura ng Isabela de Basilan, nang malaman niya ang bagong responsibilidad, siya ay nag reflect, nanalangin at humingi ng sapat na panahon sa kanyang bagong tatahakin na landas na may mga hamon at paghihirap, subalit dito agad niyang nakita ang simbolo sa piling ni Jesus at ni Maria na hindi siya kailanman iiwanan sa bagong hamon.
Ngayong araw, pinangunahan ng Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines Archbishop Guiseppe Pinto ang instalasyon kay archbishop Jumoad bilang bagong arsobispo ng Archdiocese ng Ozamiz sa Immaculate Conception Cathedral sa Ozamiz City.
“September 14 the Nuncio informed me that I am nominated as archbishop of Ozamiz, I reflected, prayed and asked to give me time, I went up to the chapel, the moment I entered the chapel, I saw the crucified Jesus, and at the foot of the cross was our Blessed Mother then I said every office has cross to carry because it is precisely the meaning of discipleship, come follow me, but before we have to follow Jesus, he did not say immediately Ok come but he said you want to be my disciples carry your cross then follow me. That was it, I saw the crucified Jesus in every position in every office in the church there are always difficulties problems encountered but we all know that Jesus did not only died but he rose and he conquered death and with the Blessed Mother at the foot of the cross reminding me that she will never abandoned me too, so I am very grad that with this realizations and I came here from Basilan, I only brought with me my faith and hope that in his time, he will put everything in order.” Pahayag ni Archbishop Jumoad sa panayam ng Radio Veritas.
Ayon sa arsobispo, siya ay nagagalak sa kanyang instalasyon lalo na at dinaluhan ito ng mga obispo, mga pari, madre at mga relihiyoso mula sa Basilan at sa iba’t-ibang panig ng bansa.
Samantala, ayon kay Archbishop Jumoad, nanibago siya sa kanyang bagong tungkulin lalo na sa umaga dahil sa hindi na niya naririnig ang mga panalangin ng mga Muslim tuwing 4:30 ng madaling araw na susundan ng panalangin ng mga Katoliko na kanyang nakaugalian sa Basilan.
“November 29 I woke up I didn’t heard the sound, walang prayer sa Muslim, kasi sa Basilan yun ang una kong naririnig 4:30 am prayer for Muslim and 5:00 am ringing of Catholic bells.” Ayon sa Arsobispo.
Unang itinalaga si Jumoad bilang Arsobispo ng Ozamiz noong October 4, 2016 kapalit ni Archbishop Jesus Armamento Dosado.
Ang Ozamiz ay may apat na suffragan dioceses kabilang ang Dipolog, Iligan, Pagadian, at ang l prelatura ng Marawi kug saan 80% ng mamamayan nito mga Katoliko.
