Ayon sa Obispo, naging makabuluhan ang kanyang kauna-unahang pagdalo sa taunang pagtitipon na isa ring naaangkop na paghahanda para sa nakatakdang pagdaraos nito sa Pilipinas sa taong 2025.
“The 58th annual conference of AMI or Apostolat Militaire International was indeed an eye-opener for me. That was my first time to attend the General Assembly of AMI. There were many things I learned especially how to organize and how we can be prepare for in 2025 the Philippines will host the annual conference.” Ang bahagi ng pahayag ni Bishop Florencio sa Radyo Veritas.
Pagbabahagi ni Bishop Florencio, makabuluhan ang mga naging talakayan sa pagtitipon kung saan higit na nabigyang diin ang mahalagang tungkuling ginagampanan ng mga chaplain para sa pangangalaga sa kapakanang moral at pang-espiritwal ng mga uniformed officers na humaharap sa iba’t ibang banta dulot ng kanilang mandato na protektahan ang bansa.
“The important thing am taking home is for our Chaplains and our uniformed officers that they can have great involvement in forming the minds and hearts of our uniformed men and women in the field. Let this not be relinquished to any person or group but chaplains should assert this noble and greater task of evangelizing our troops.” Dagdag pa ni Bishop Florencio.
Tema ng naganap na 58th General Assembly and Annual Conference of the Apostolat Militaire International ang “Christian attitude to contemporary warfare” na naglalayong maibahagi sa lahat ng mga opisyal ng military diocese sa bawat bansa ang iba’t ibang mga kaalaman at naaangkop na kasanayan sa paggabay sa mga kawani ng pwersa ng pamahalaan lalo na sa gitna ng iba’t ibang sitwasyong pangseguridad na kinakailangang tugunan sa lipunan.
“Indeed, the different conferences and intervention were interesting not only for the chaplains but for the lay counterparts in the ordinariate, I mean the officers and men and women of the Military and the PNP, BJMP, BFP and the Phil Coast Guard.” Ayon pa kay Bishop Florencio.
Batay sa tala, 44 na mga AMI representatives ang dumalo sa pagtitipon noong ika-10 hanggang ika-15 ng Setyembre, 2023 kabilang na ang mga military bishops mula sa iba’t ibang bansa na kinabibilangan ng Pilipinas, Austria, France, the Netherlands, at United Kingdom.
Saklaw ng Military Ordinariate of the Philippines ang pangangasiwa sa paggabay sa buhay espiritwal ng mga kawani ng Philippine National Police (PNP), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Bureau of Jail Management & Penology (BJMP) at Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC).
