“The bishops’ conference was the first conference in the world to issue a pastoral statement on environment. It was in 1986 when the CBCP issued a statement pastoral letter called “what is happening to our beautiful land”, and it is quoted in the recent Laudato Si of Pope Francis, from that, we have collaborated with government at the beginning on the setting up of tree planting in the mountains, one bishop issued appealed to all the bishops “adopt a mountain that was their movement but the momemtum stopped, because people got money but did not plant the trees, now floods we are harvesting the failures of people with regard to the environment…The floods that we are not very aware of the little things we can do to prevent climate change and global warming, and each family… one family stop burning garbage, do the recycling, use your car less often, put off electricity when not in use, this are little things that every famiy can do to help reduce global warming and mitigate climate change.”pahayag ni Cardinal Quevedo sa isang press conference sa WACOM4.
