Gospel Reading for November 29, 2025 – Luke 21: 34-36
GIFT
Jesus said to his disciples: “Beware that your hearts do not become drowsy from carousing and drunkenness and the anxieties of daily life, and that day catch you by surprise like a trap. For that day will assault everyone who lives on the face of the earth. Be vigilant at all times and pray that you have the strength to escape the tribulations that are imminent and to stand before the Son of Man.”

Although what Jesus is saying sounds frightening, it is a reminder for all of us who think that by virtue of our baptism, we have become Christians and therefore, sure to gain the salvation that Christ gives.
Salvation is a GIFT. Like all gifts, if they are not used, we will not benefit from them. Unless we live the SAVED LIFE, or that of faithfully following the teachings of Christ and the Commandments, how can we be saved?
We pray Lord, that we live each day as though it were the last!
