Radio Veritas 846, the leading faith-based AM radio station in the Philippines, is inviting all the Catholic faithful to profess their pledge of devotion to Our Lady of Lourdes at the Our Lady of Veritas Chapel in Quezon City on February 11, 2018.
Our Lady of Lourdes is a Roman Catholic title of the Blessed Virgin Mary venerated in honor of the Marian apparitions that reportedly occurred in 1858 when 14-year old Bernadette Soubirous told her mother that a “lady” spoke to her in the cave of Massabielle in the vicinity of Lourdes in France.
In January 18, 1862, Pope Pius IX authorized Bishop Bertrand-Sévère Laurence to permit the veneration of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Lourdes. The image of Our Lady of Lourdes has been widely copied and reproduced in shrines and homes, often in garden landscapes.
Her feast day on February 11, the faithful’s prayer request, petitions, thanksgiving and other intentions will be offered at the Healing Mass by 12 nn. Devotees will be given a pledge of devotion certificate to certify their pledge and a Holy water with container.
Radio Veritas President Rev. Fr. Anton CT Pascual encourages all the faithful to join the celebration and continue their prayers as their devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
“Let us continue our devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary through our prayers and pledges. May our station of truth become your instrument in spreading and strengthening the devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary in order for us to be united with our Lord Jesus Christ,” Fr. Pascual said.
Faithful are encouraged to give a PHP500.00 donation pledge in support of the social communications ministry of the Catholic Church. They may hand-over their pledge along with their prayer intention to Mr. Lawrence Valdez, Religious Department Associate at the second floor of Veritas Tower in 162 West Avenue cor. EDSA in Quezon City or deposit it to the following Radio Veritas bank accounts:
