Labis ang pasasalamat ni Archbishop Salvatore Rino Fisichella – President ng Pontifical Council for Promoting the New Evangelization sa kanyang mayamang karanasan sa tatlong araw na Philippine Conference on New Evangelization.
Ayon sa Arsobispo, isang karangalan na makasama ang libo-libong nakilahok sa pagtitipon, at ang mga kabataang puno ng enerhiya sa paglilingkod sa Panginoon.
Dahil dito, hinamon ng Arsobispo ang mga mananampalatayang Filipino na maging responsible sa pagpapahayag ng salita ng Diyos at mahalin ang ating kapwa.
Dagdag pa nito, mahalaga na huwag tayong matakot at magpadaig sa mga limitasyon ng tao na ipahayag ang kabutihan ng Panginoon at ipagtanggol ang pananampalatayang Katoliko.
“I am very grateful for this experience… The message that I can give is that, first of all we should be responsible for new evangelization. Responsible comes from love, and if you love you are responsible for the other, and for this reason when we discover the new evangelization, the task that Jesus gave to us we become responsible for the other, so don’t be afraid, don’t think only about the limit that you have, don’t be conditioned by the contradiction that everybody bring with us, don’t be afraid. But, first of all, take from a prayer and take from the encounter of Jesus Christ, the strength to announce him and the joy to live at the Gospel, pahayag ng Abp. Fisichella sa Radyo Veritas.
Samantala, ipinaalala naman ni Abp. Fisichella na ang terorismo at karahasang umiiral sa Pilipinas at sa iba pang panig ng mundo ay hindi nagmumula sa relihiyon.
Aniya, ang relihiyon ay mensahe ng kapayapaan mula sa Panginoon at ang karahasan ay nililikha lamang ng mga tao mula sa hindi pagkakaunawaan sa pananampalataya.
“We should remember that violence doesn’t come from any religion. Religion is a message of peace, God gave to us a peace, no violence, violence comes from man, [and] violence comes from a misunderstanding of faith,” pahayag ng Arsobispo.
Kaugnay dito, hinimok ni Abp. Fisichella ang bawat isa na maging matapang at patatagin ang ating pananampalataya, upang sa pagharap natin sa karahasan ay madama ng ating kapwa ang pagmamahal ng Diyos na bunga ng ating pananampalataya, at hindi lumilikha ng anumang uri ng karahasan.
“For this reason we should be strong enough to say that, anytime we are in front of violence, we should know to reject it in the name of the Lord and in the name of our faith. Our faith is the capacity to be responsible for the others, but our faith means also to be able to love each other, with our limits and with our contradictions, but love doesn’t have any form of violence,” dagdag pa ni Abp. Fisichella.
