Kinundena ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) at Department of National Defense (DND) ang panibagong paniniil ng China sa mga Pilipinong sundalo at uniformmed personnel na nagsasagawa ng Resupply Mission sa West Philippine Sea.
Ayon kay AFP Public Affairs Office Chief Colonel Xerxes Trinidad, mali at hindi makatarungan ang paniniil ng Chinese Coast Guard sa teritoryo ng Pilipinas
“The AFP will not discuss operational details on the legal humanitarian rotation and resupply mission at Ayungin Shoal, which is well within our EEZ. We will not dignify the deceptive and misleading claims of the China Coast Guard. The main issue remains to be the illegal presence and actions of Chinese vessels within the Philippines’ exclusive economic zone, which infringes on our sovereignty and sovereign rights. The continued aggressive actions of the CCG are escalating tensions in the region,” mensahe ni Trinidad sa Radio Veritas.
Pangako naman ni Secretary of National Defense Gilberto Teodoro Jr ang pagsusulong ng mapayapang pakikipagdayalogo sa naantalang resupply mission para sa mga sundalo sa Ayungin Shoal.
“China’s dangerous and reckless behavior in the West Philippine Sea shall be resisted by the AFP, Their behavior contravenes their statements of good faith and decency, we will exert our utmost in order to fulfill our sworn mandate to protect our territorial integrity, sovereignty, and sovereign rights, it should now be clear to the international community that China’s actions are the true obstacles to peace and stability in the South China Sea,” ayon sa mensahe ni Teodoro na ipinadala ng DND sa Radio Veritas.
Unang inilunsad ni Diocese of Cubao Running Priest Father Robert Reyes ang ‘Bandila at Kandila para sa Soberanya at Kapayapaan’ kung saan hinihimok ang mga mamamayan na magdasal tuwing ala sais ng gabi kasabay ng pagtitirik ng kandila at pagsasabit ng bandila sa kanilang mga tahanan upang ipinalangin na itigil na ng China ang pananakop sa West Philippines Sea.
