Radio Veritas 846 and Radio Veritas Asia mark their three-year partnership through a joint celebration of their 48th anniversary to be held on Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017 at SM City North EDSA Skydome.
During the event, Radio Veritas 846 President Rev. Fr. Anton C.T. Pascual and Radio Veritas Asia General Manager Rev. Fr. Victor Sadaya, CMF will sign a manifesto for their three-year partnership to celebrate their Golden anniversary on 2019. The partnership of the two media arms of the Catholic Church is intended to strengthen their efforts in exploring and discovering new methods and means of transmitting the “Good News” more effectively to all the people.
The theme of the joint anniversary celebration is “Enabling Communion of Communities in the Social Communications Ministry” in line with the celebration of the Year of the Parish as Communion of Communities as declared by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines. Also, Veritas 500, the Veritas846 campaign for the 500 years of Christianity in the Philippines will be launched. It is a five-year evangelization program of Radio Veritas that aims to spread and witness the love, truth and justice of Jesus to the 71 million “unchurched” Filipino Catholic through new “ardor, methods and expression” in radio, television, social media and Catholink, the Church info hub
The event will commence with the Holy Mass at 1:30 pm to be presided by Manila Archbishop His Eminence Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle D.D. with Cubao Bishop Most Rev. Fr. Honesto Ongtioco, D.D. and other priest-anchors as concelebrants. The program which starts immediately after the Mass at 2:30 pm will imbibe a festive mood. Performances of Hiyas ng Hagonoy Folkloric Group, Alay sa may Kapansanan Foundation, Gawad Kalinga Mabuhay Choir, Hangad Music Ministry and Vietnamese students from Institute for Consecrated Life in Asia (INCLA) are expected to grace the celebration.
Radio Veritas 846 will also launch the new theme songs and logos of three of its station-produced programs, namely Veritas Pilipinas, Barangay Simbayanan and Hello Father 911.
All the activities for the anniversary will be aired live through Radio Veritas846 from 1pm to 6pm and via live streaming at www.veritas846.ph.

The 48th anniversary of Radio Veritas546 and Radio Veritas Asia is in partnership with Land Bank of the Philippines, Caritas Et Labora Human Resource Service Cooperative, Immaculate Concepcion School for Boys, San Juan de Dios Education Foundation, Inc. and the office of Hon. Senator Cynthia Villar.
On April 11, 1969 the then Manila Archbishop Rufino Cardinal Santos, D.D., with the presence of Antonio Cardinal Samore, inaugurated the studios of Radio Veritas located in Fairview, Quezon City.
In 1986, it was through Radio Veritas where Manila Archbishop Jaime Cardinal Sin made the call to the people to converge in EDSA to prevent the bloodshed, and ushered in the four-day bloodless revolution known as EDSA 1 People Power Revolution.
That same year, Radio Veritas received the Ramon Magsaysay Award for Journalism, Literature, and Creative Communication Arts. The Ramon Magsaysay Award Board of Trustees recognized Radio Veritas’ crucial role in using the truth to depose an oppressive and corrupt regime and restore the Filipino faith in the electoral process.
In 1991, Radio Veritas846 aired independently from Radio Veritas Asia. It was transformed into a commercial station and changed its call sign to DZNN. It was in 1997 that it went back to its previous call sign DZRV. It was also during this period that the station transferred its studio to several locations until it was able to settle to its present studio in West Avenue corner EDSA in Quezon City.
Currently, Radio Veritas 846 is going beyond radio through its website, www.veritas846.ph and its social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) Veritasph. It is also to extending its reach to television through its partnership with TV Maria.
Meanwhile, Radio Veritas Asia digitalized its production facilities paving the way to shift some of the languages, where it is politically stable, to their language areas. Furthermore, this development ushered the possibility for most programs to be produced in the native areas and sent to RVA studios through Internet.
