The Archdiocese of Manila will launch AUDIAM: A Listening Heart for a Synodal Church, a collection of selected homilies of Manila Archbishop Jose F. Cardinal Advincula, on September 15, 2026, at the Manila Cathedral in Intramuros.
The book launch will follow the 9:30 a.m. Eucharistic Celebration at the Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception (Manila Cathedral) which will be part of the Archdiocese’s celebration of Cardinal Advincula’s 50th anniversary of priestly ordination and 25th anniversary of episcopal ordination.
The title AUDIAM, from the Latin word meaning “I will listen,” reflects one of the important calls of the Church in its continuing journey of synodality: to listen to God and to one another.
The book gathers homilies delivered by Cardinal Advincula during his years of ministry. Through these reflections, readers are given a glimpse of his pastoral journey and his way of accompanying the people entrusted to his care.
For the Archdiocese, the collection is not simply a remembrance of the Cardinal’s milestones in ministry. It also offers an opportunity to revisit the messages and reflections he has shared with the faithful through the years.
As the Archdiocese celebrates the Cardinal’s years of priestly and episcopal ministry, AUDIAM becomes part of that thanksgiving. It preserves some of the words through which he has shared the faith and accompanied the people of God.
The Archdiocese of Manila invites the clergy, religious, lay faithful, and friends of the Church to join the Eucharistic Celebration and the launching of AUDIAM on September 15.
The celebration is also an invitation to continue what the title of the book calls the Church to do – to listen, to walk together, and to remain a Church with a listening heart.
