Ipinapanalangin ni Antipolo Bishop Ruperto Santos na i-adya ang Pilipinas sa banta ng malakas na lindol o tinaguriang “The Big One.”
Ang panawagan ay ginawa ng obispo kasunod ng pangamba ng maraming Pilipino, lalo na sa Metro Manila, matapos ang sunod-sunod na malalakas na lindol na yumanig sa Visayas at Mindanao kamakailan.
Ayon kay Bishop Santos, nananatili siyang nagtitiwala sa kapangyarihan ng Diyos na lumikha ng sanlibutan at hindi pababayaan ang bansang nasa Pacific Ring of Fire.
“O Heavenly Father, the Philippines, our beloved land, rests upon the Ring of Fire, vulnerable and unprepared. Deliver us, O God, from the devastation of the great earthquake. Spare Your people from destruction, from the collapse of infrastructures, and the loss of lives. Let Your mercy be our shield, Your love our refuge,” bahagi ng panalangin ng obispo.
Dagdag pa ni Bishop Santos, sa kabila ng mga pagyanig sa ilang bahagi ng bansa, nawa’y manatiling matatag ang pananampalataya ng mga Pilipino at patuloy na kumapit sa pag-asang hatid ni Hesus.
Hinikayat din ng obispo ang mga pinuno ng pamahalaan na maging bukas sa karunungan at magsagawa ng mga hakbang sa paghahanda para sa kapakanan ng mamamayan.
“Grant wisdom to our leaders, courage to our communities, and strength to those who prepare and protect. May we not be paralyzed by fear, but moved by faith to act with compassion and foresight,” ayon sa obispo.
Samantala, sinabi ni Phivolcs Director Teresito Bacolcol na bagama’t hindi maiiwasan ang paggalaw ng West Valley Fault na makakaapekto sa Metro Manila at karatig-lalawigan, hindi dapat mag-panic ang publiko.
Sa halip, ay dapat ipagpatuloy ang mga plano at paghahandang isinasagawa upang mabawasan ang pinsala sakaling tumama ang malakas na lindol.
Bilang bahagi ng paghahanda, nagpapatuloy din ang mga earthquake drill sa iba’t ibang tanggapan, establisimyento at paaralan sa Metro Manila upang matiyak ang kaligtasan ng publiko sa oras ng sakuna.

O Heavenly Father and Loving God, O Lord, Creator of heaven and earth,
You who laid the foundations of the world and calmed the storm with a word, we turn to
You in this hour of trembling. The earth beneath us groans, and our hearts are heavy
with fear. We lift up the Philippines, our beloved land, resting upon the Ring of Fire, vulnerable and unprepared.
Deliver us, O God, from the devastation of the great earthquake. Spare Your people
from destruction, from the collapse of infrastructures and the loss of lives.
Let Your mercy be our shield, Your love our refuge.
