Ipinanalangin ng pinuno ng Episcopal Commission on Migrants and Itinerant People ng Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines ang mga kabataan lalo na sa pagdiriwang ng taon ng mga kabataan sa bansa.
Tinukoy ni Balanga Bishop Ruperto Santos ang mga anak ng Overseas Filipino Workers na nahiwalay sa kanilang mga magulang dahil sa pagsusumikap na maghanapbuhay sa ibayong dagat upang matustusan ang pangangailangan ng pamilya.
Dalangin ng Obispo na gabayan ang bawat kabataan tungo sa landas na tinatahak ni Kristo at manatiling matatag upang labanan ang kahinaan sa masasamang impluwensya sa lipunan.
Hiling ni Bishop Santos na mauunawaan ng mga kabataang malayo sa kanilang mga magulang na ang tunay na pagmamahal ay may kaakibat na pagsasakripisyo tulad ng pagkakaloob ng Diyos Ama sa sangkatauhan sa sariling Anak upang mailigtas ang sanlibutan sa kasalanan.
Ipinagdasal din ng Obispo ang bawat pamilya para maging ligtas sa anumang uri ng kapahamakan at patuloy na pagpadaloy sa dakilang pag-ibig na magbubuklod sa mga pamilya.
Batay sa tala ng Philippine Statistics Authority mahigit sampung milyon ang mga OFW sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng daigdig na unang binigyang pagkilala ni Pope Francis sa pagbisita sa Pilipinas noong 2015 dahil sa pagsasakripisyo para sa kanilang mga pamilya.
Sa pagdiriwang ng Year of the Youth sa Pilipinas na may temang “Filipino Youth in Mission: Beloved, Gifted, Empowered” umaasa ang mga lingkod ng Simbahan na maging aktibo ang mga kabataan sa pagiging katuwang sa pagpapalaganap ng misyon ni Hesus ang ihayag ang Mabuting Balita.
Prayer for the Youth
“Especially the sons and daughters of our OFWs Oh almighty God, merciful Father as we dedicate 2019 as the Year of the Youth, we lift up to you all the youth in our country.
We specifically pray for the sons and daughters of our hardworking OFWs. We are thankful for the gift that they are to everyone around them. They are a source of joy and such a blessing.
They are valued and precious not only in their parent’s eyes but more so in your eyes, O loving God.
We humbly ask that you continue to guide them, many of whom are at a crossroads whether to follow you Lord or follow the world. Empower them to stand against the vulnerabilities to peer influence.
Enable them to resist the lure of materialism. Grant them the grace to maximize their potentials as good students as well as responsible stewards of what their parents have entrusted them. We also pray for those who are in agony living without either parents or both.
Change their perception and make them realize that true love entails sacrifice. Give them the discernment that they have the ability, with Your help, to change their direction. Continue to shed Your light upon them so they may share to others the gifts that you bestowed upon them. We pray for every member of their families wherever they are.
Put a cloak of protection on each of them so they may be away from all forms of danger. Finally, continue to bind their families in love, through your mercy, until the day they will all be reunited again.
