Dismayado ang Think Tank Group na Ibon Foundation sa kabiguan ng pamahalaan na tugunan at makita ang mga suliranin sa ekonomiya ng Pilipinas.
Binigyan diin ng IBON na hindi foreign investments ang sagot sa mga suliranin ng inflation rate, kahirapan, kakulangan ng trabaho at food security.
Iminungkahi ng Ibon Foundation sa pamahalaan na paunlarin ang lokal na sektor ng agrikultura at iba pang industrial producers upang matugunan ang kawalan ng trabaho at pagkakaroon ng sapat na suplay ng pagkain na magpapababa sa antas ng kahirapan sa bansa.
“Ultimately, the situation of Filipinos on the ground is more important than abstract statistics of so-called economic performance. The economy is meant to improve the conditions of the majority of Filipinos. And when so many Filipinos express dissatisfaction over government’s management of the economy, the administration should take this as their cue that their preferred economic strategies are not working,” ayon sa mensahe ng Ibon Foundation na ipinadala sa Radio Veritas.
Ito ang sagot ng IBON sa hakbang ni NEDA Secretary Arsenio Balisacan na ipursigi ang panghihimok sa mga foreign investor na mag-negosyo o magkaroon ng mga investment sa Pilipinas upang lumago ang ekonomiya ng bansa.
Sa pag-aaral ng OCTA Research, dismayado ang 75% ng mga Pilipino sa pagtugon ng pamahalaan sa mataas na inflation rate, 32% ang nakukulangan sa mga inisyatibo sa food secturity, 31% naman sa pagbibigay oportunidad sa mamamayan na magkatrabaho at 46% ang dismayado sa poverty reduction efforts ng pamahalaan.
“But the more appropriate response should perhaps be why so many Filipinos remain dissatisfied despite the glowing statistics presented. It is also worthwhile recalling how another survey outfit, the Social Weather Stations (SWS), reported that the number of Filipino families saying they are poor or borderline poor/not poor actually increased to 22 million or some eight (😎 out of 10 Filipinos in December 2023 – again, despite glowing statistics of supposedly improved economic performance,” ayon pa sa mensahe ng Ibon Foundation.
Sa pagpapaunlad sa buhay ng mamamayan, hinimok ng Kaniyang Kabanalang Francisco ang mga lider sa ibat-ibang bahagi ng mundo na unahin ang pagpapabuti sa antas ng pamumuhay ng kanilang mga pinagsisilbihan mamamayan.
