Gospel Reading for October 10, 2026 – Luke 11: 27-28
EMULATE
While Jesus was speaking, a woman from the crowd called out and said to him, “Blessed is the womb that carried you and the breasts at which you nursed.” He replied, “Rather, blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it.”

Jesus was emphasizing what made Mary blessed. It was not simply because she bore Jesus, the Son of God, in her womb and nursed him as an infant. It was because she listened to what God was saying to her and did what was asked of her.
Here, Jesus is indirectly telling us to EMULATE her if we are to be truly blessed.
Mary, our Mother, teach us to be like you in all ways. Amen.
