LOSE THE CHANCE
Jesus said to his disciples: “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the Kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven.
“Everyone who listens to these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock. The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and buffeted the house. But it did not collapse; it had been set solidly on rock. And everyone who listens to these words of mine but does not act on them will be like a fool who built his house on sand. The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and buffeted the house. And it collapsed and was completely ruined.”

Those who will enter the Kingdom of heaven are only those who really mean, “Lord” when they call the Lord. We cannot say that a person is our “boss” if we do not follow what he/she asks us to do, or if we just pretend to follow but secretly do not follow. If the Father, if Jesus, is really our Lord, we do not even have to mention “Lord” because as is always said, “Actions Speak Louder than Words.”
It will be easier to follow the will of God if we deepen our faith in him. If our faith in God is like the house built on sand, when problems and challenges come, it is not only our faith that will collapse, but also our intent to follow him. We, therefore, LOSE THE CHANCE to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
Remember in Matthew 9: 13, Jesus said, “Now go and learn what this means: ‘I DESIRE COMPASSION, RATHER THAN SACRIFICE,’ for I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” Therefore, whatever we bring to the altar will have value only if we are able to share love, especially to those in need.
Lord Jesus, may you truly be our Lord all throughout our lives!
