Puspusan ang hakbang ng prison ministry at socio-pastoral apostolate ng Society of Jesus (Philippine Province) para sa makatao at maka-Diyos na paglilingkod sa mga Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) sa bansa.
Bilang pinangunahan ng Philippine Jesuit Prison Service (PJPS) ang pagkakaloob ng 3-araw na retreat para sa ilang mga kawani at opisyal ng Bureau of Corrections (BuCor).
Nagsilbing Retreat Points Giver sa tatlong araw na gawain si Rev. Fr. Jun-G Bargayo, SJ – na siya ring kasalukuyang executive director ng PJPS.
Layunin ng gawain na bigyan ng pagkakataon ang mga opisyal ng BuCor na makapagpahinga, makapagnilay, mapanalangin at higit na mapag-alab ang kanilang misyon sa mga bilanguan ng may higit na pag-unawa sa Mabuting Salita ng Diyos.
Sa ibinahaging Facebook post ng Philippine Jesuit Prison Service (PJPS) ay umabot sa 37-opisyal ng BuCor ang nakibahagi sa ‘Walking with Jesus Behind the Gates’ Retreat na isinagawa sa Sacred Heart Novitiate.
“Walking with Jesus Behind the Gates: A Retreat with BuCor Officers. From July 24 to 26, thirty-seven BuCor officers stepped into silence, stillness, and grace during a retreat held at Sacred Heart Novitiate. Through deep prayer, reflection, and Gospel contemplation, they encountered Jesus as Friend, Flame, and Light—renewing their sense of mission behind prison walls. Facilitated by PJPS, CLC, and CIS, and guided by Fr. Jun-G Bargayo, SJ, this retreat became a sacred space for healing, hope, and rediscovery.” Bahagi ng pahayag ng PJPS.
Katuwang ni Fr. Bargayo sa pangangasiwa sa tatlong araw na gawain ang ilang mga layko na nagsilbi ring facilitators sa 3-day retreat mula ika-24 hanggang ika-26 ng Hulyo, 2025.
