Radio Veritas 846, the leading faith-based am station in the Philippines is inviting the public to join the third Veritas Jubilee of Mercy pilgrimage in the Diocese of Antipolo on August 25, 2016.

In light of the celebration of Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy, Radio Veritas will visit the Jubilee Church in Antipolo Rizal, the Shrine of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage (Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception of Antipolo) as well as other historical churches in the diocese such as Regina Rosarii Institute for Contemplation in Asia, St. Mary Magdalene Parish, Saint Ildefonsus of Toledo Parish Church, St. Joseph Parish, and St. Jerome Parish Church.

The National Shrine of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage commonly known as Antipolo Cathedral is a popular pilgrimage site that enshrines the Marian image of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage and is the seat of the Bishop of Antipolo. It was declared as National Shrine on January 14, 1954 by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference and was elevated to the status of cathedral on June 25, 1983, upon the canonical erection of the Diocese of Antipolo.

Regina Rosarii Institute for Contemplation in Asia in Tanay, Rizal is the home to the 71 ft-tall statue of the Regina Rosarii (Queen of the Holy Rosary), also known as “Our Lady on Top of the Hill”. Built on 2012, Regina RICA has become a pilgrimage center that gathers many people to experience the peace, prayerful atmosphere and the presence of Our Lady, Regina Rosarii, on top of the hill.

St. Mary Magdalene Parish in Pililla was built by the Franciscans in 1583. The Church is classified as a Historical Structure by the National Historical Institute of the Philippines and bears the Seal of the Republic of the Philippines in its Cast Iron Marker presently installed on the Church Facade.

Saint Ildefonsus of Toledo Parish Church popularly known as the Tanay Church is located in the town of Tanay, Rizal Province. The construction of the present church was begun in 1773 and was completed after ten years in 1783. In 2001, it was declared as a National Cultural Treasure Church by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts.

St. Joseph Parish is one of the oldest churches in Baras, Rizal, having been completed in 1686. The town was transferred to Ibayo in 1636 but returned to the present site in 1682. The Franciscans started to build the church in 1595. The Jesuits administered the parish from 1616 to 1679. The present church was completed in 1686. Its distinct Baroque Architectural design distinguishes Saint Joseph Parish from other churches in Rizal.

St. Jerome Parish in Morong, Rizal is famous for its impressive facade, octagonal belfry– whose large bell’s lifting reportedly still remains a mystery because of the seemingly impossible ascent through the church’s narrow staircase–and the bullet holes and pockmarks on the church walls left by a gun battle between Spanish Guardia Civil and Katipuneros (Filipino insurgents) during the 1896 Spanish Revolution.
Radio Veritas President Rev. Fr. Anton C.T. Pascual invited all Kapanalig to join the Veritas Jubilee of Mercy pilgrimage.

“My dear brothers and sisters, we invite you to join us in the celebration of Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy as we explore the historical churches in the province of Rizal and together let us pray, reflect and renew our relationship with God,” Fr. Pascual said.

Deadline of registration is on August 17, 2016 at the Radio Veritas studios at 162 West Avenue cor EDSA, Quezon City. A Php 2,000 registration fee will be applied to all the participants and for the full pledged Kapanalig members a discounted registration fee of Php 1, 800.00 will be applied. The registration fee is inclusive of transportation, lunch and snack and love offering to the chaplain.
