Lord Jesus, You are the fount and source of all wisdom, I praise and thank You for creating me; I praise and thank You for sustaining me. You are wise I am foolish and stupid. You are the fount of all wisdom. You are wise and wonderful but I have exchanged You for less important persons, for less important things that is why I am suffering.
“I am suffering because of the sins of my body. I am suffering because of the sins of my soul. Lord Jesus, how foolish and stupid I am to compromise my love for You, to water down my love for You. I am afraid to give up my bad habits that is why I am not able to sleep, that is why I am not at peace, I am not ready to give up the friends who lead me to sin that is why my heart is always troubled, that is why my heart is always restless. I am adamant. I refuse to recognize that I have faults to be corrected that is why I am not free, that is why I am suffering.
“Lord, look not on my negligence, look not on my stupidity and foolishness, look not on my compromising attitude, look not on my gluttony and avarice, look not on the grudges that I still carry within my heart. Lord Jesus, I want to be liberated from useless and unnecessary sufferings. I want to be set free. I cannot do it myself. I have destroyed other people because of this. I have even destroyed, first of all, myself. Lord I know that I am not hopeless. Lord, I know that this world is not hopeless.
I want to turn away from sin. I want to turn away from selfishness. I want to run out of my gluttony, of my avarice, of my lying, of my impurity. Lord, please take away all these useless sufferings from my heart.
Bring me wisdom. Make me wise, make me gentle. Give me the wisdom to know the difference between the sufferings that bring life and the sufferings that bring death. I am at the brink of death. I am at the point of death because up to now I am still stupid and foolish. I just play blind. I just play dumb and deaf, refusing to recognize that these sufferings are of my own making.
Lord, I want to turn away from sin. Humbly I recognize before Your presence my faults. Humbly I recognize my stupidity and my foolishness. Humbly I beg You for wisdom. Humbly I beg You for purity of heart. Humbly I beg You for the humility to forgive. Humbly I beg You for gentleness and understanding. Humbly I beg You for the spirit of sacrifice, the spirit of real generosity.
