Gospel Reading for July 15, 2026 – Matthew 11: 25-27
HEAVEN
At that time Jesus exclaimed: “I give praise to you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for although you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned you have revealed them to the childlike. Yes, Father, such has been your gracious will. All things have been handed over to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son wishes to reveal him.”

Do theologians and biblical scholars know and see God more than anyone else?
Today’s Gospel tells us that if we truly wish to see God and know him, we must become childlike—innocent, open, trusting, humble, honest, authentic, filled with wonder, and hopeful. For in the realm of the Divine, there is no malice, no holding back, no uncertainty, no pride, no deceit, no indifference, and no despair. No wonder it is called HEAVEN.
Many of us think that we will see God only on the other side of this life. Yet today, knowing God is not as difficult as we imagine because Jesus has revealed the Father to us. However, knowing God from books is not the same as truly knowing him. We are called to become like Jesus, who perfectly embodied all these childlike qualities—the very innocence and purity that Adam and Eve possessed before the Fall.
Lord Jesus, help us always to see and know God more deeply!
