Radio Veritas 846, the leading faith-based AM radio station in the Philippines, will air a special programming on March 25, 2016 for the commemoration of Good Friday.
Veritas846 will start its Good Friday special programming with “Ina at at Anak” from 7:00AM to 9:00AM. This program features Lenten talks from Cubao Bishop Most Rev. Honesto Ontionco D.D., Our Lady of the Abandoned Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Willy Benito, OFM, Prefect of Discipline of Oblates of St. Joseph College Seminary Rev. Fr. Joel Villanueva, OSJ, Society the Divine Word Coordinator for Biblical Apostolate and Social Communication Rev. Fr. Arlo Yap, SVD and Radio Veritas President Rev. Fr. Anton C.T. Pascual.
The program also features performances from Ateneo Boys Choir, Kundirana La Salle, former members of Philippine Madrigal Singer and Christian Hortal, an OSJ College Seminarian. Ina at Anak, directed by Director Ramon Villa Vicencio, Event Specialist of RPV Music and Performing Arts is the Catholic Mass Media Awards best religious program of 2013-2014.
Meanwhile, in lieu of the daily magazine program “Pamilya mo, Pamilya ko!” from 10AM to 11:55AM and “Veritas Editorial” at 11:55AM will be the airing of the talk of Bishop of Caloocan, Bishop Pablo Virgilio David live from Araneta Lenten Retreat.
From 12:00NN to 3:00PM, the Seven Last Words live from Santo Domingo Church in Quezon City will also be aired.
The religious program, “Divine Mercy Hour” will be pre-empted with the live broadcast of the Commemoration of the Lord’s Passion from Manila Cathedral from 3:00PM to 4:00PM to be presided by His Eminence Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle, D.D., Archbishop of Manila. This will be followed by the live airing of the talks on Ynares Lenten Retreat from 5:00PM to 8:00PM. The continuation of “Ina at Anak” will then be aired from 9pm to 11pm.
Good Friday is a Christian religious holiday commemorating the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ. This day is observed during Holy Week as part of the Paschal Triduum, the three day commemoration of the passion, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is also the day when the faithful do the acts of fasting, abstinence and prayer.
