Pangungunahan ng Presidente ng Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines o CBCP ang Episcopal ordination ni Father Enrique Macaraeg bilang Obispo sa St. John the Evangelist Cathedral sa Dagupan City sa ika-24 ng Mayo.

Itatalaga naman ni Papal Nuncio o Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines Giuseppe Pinto si Bishop elect Macaraeg na bagong Obispo ng Diocese of Tarlac kapalit ng nagretirong si Bishop Florentino Cinenze.

Inihayag ni Father Rey Romero, head ng Social Communication Ministry ng Archdiocese of Lingayen-Dagupan na natanggap ni Father Macaraeg ang sulat mula sa Vatican noong ika-1 ng Marso sa loob ng selebrasyon ng Year of Mercy ng Simbahang Katolika.

“On the Episcopal Ordination of Bishop Ric on 24 May 2016, 9:00 am at the St. John the Evangelist Cathedral in Dagupan City, Archbishop Soc Villegas will be the ordaining prelate though the Papal Nuncio will be coming with around 50 bishops. Then he will be installed as Bishop of the Diocese of Tarlac on 31 May 2016, 9:00 am, also a Tuesday, at the St. Sebastian Cathedral in Tarlac City. On the Canonical Possession of the Diocese of Tarlac (Installation), the Papal Nuncio will install him.” pahayag ni Father Romero sa Radio Veritas

Inordihang pari si Bishop Ric noong ika-19 ng Mayo, 1979 at nagtapos ng Philosophy,Theology at Oriental Religions and Cultures at UST Central Seminary at UST Graduate School.

Bukod dito, naging school director si Bishop-elect Macaraeg ng Saint John Cathedral School sa Dagupan City, Saint Charles Academy sa San Carlos City, Urbiztondo Catholic School,Malasique Catholic School,Santo Thomas Catholic School at Saint Vincent Catholic School sa Archdiocese of Lingayen-Dagupan.

Si Bishop-elect Macaraeg ay kasalukuyang Vicar General at Vice chancellor ng Archdiocese of Lingayen-Dagupan.

Ang Diocese of Tarlac ay binubuo ng 52-parokya na sumasakop sa may 82.6-porsiyento o 1.52-milyong mga Katoliko.
