Itinalaga ng Philippine Province of the Society of Jesus si Rev. Fr. Firmo “Jun-G” Bargayo, SJ bilang bagong Executive Director ng Philippine Jesuit Prison Service (PJPS).
Ibinahagi ni out-going PJPS Exec. Director Rev. Fr. Eli Rowdy Lumbo, SJ ang pagkakatalaga kay Fr. Bargayo na magsisimula sa bagong tungkulin sa July 1, 2022.
Ayon kay Fr. Lumbo, bukod sa paglilingkod sa PJPS sa nakalipas na 4-na taon ay naaangkop ang mga karanasan at kasanayan ni Fr. Bargayo bilang bahagi ng social action ng Simbahan at kaalaman sa community building at formation na pangasiwaan ang Philippine Jesuit Prison Service.
“Father Provincial Primitivo Viray, Jr., SJ [Philippine Province of the Society of Jesus] has appointed Fr. Firmo “Jun-G” Bargayo SJ as the news PJPS Executive Director of the Philippine Jesuit Prison Service effective July 1, 2022. Fr. Jun-G has been with PJPS for four years and given his past experience in social action, community building and formation, he will be able to bring the ministry to new horizons that we are yet to embark on,” mensahe ni Fr. Lumbo.
Inanunsyo rin Fr. Lumbo na kasapi ng organisasyon ang bagong ordinang pari na si Fr. Edryan Paul “Ed” Colmenares, Jr., SJ.
Nagpaabot naman ng pasasalamat si Fr. Lumbo sa lahat ng kanyang mga nakatuwang sa loob ng 11-taong paglilingkod sa Philippine Jesuit Prison Service.
“Once again, I would like to thank all of you for giving me your time, talent and treasures to our PsDL and their families for many many years and for giving me the opportunity to be of service to you especially to the least, the last and the lost. My journey with each of you will forever be kept in my heart,” dagdag pa ni Fr. Lumbo.
Ang Philippine Jesuit Prison Service ay ang socio-pastoral apostolate ng Society of Jesus (Philippine Province) na nagkakaloob ng iba’t ibang mga serbisyo at programa tulad ng holistic rehabilitation sa mga bilanggo o Persons Deprived of Liberty.
