The Catholic Knowledge Management System of Veritas 846, beefs up it services through the help of Aid to the Church in Need (ACN International).
According to Rev Fr. Anton CT Pascual, Radio Veritas president, ACN international have expressed its support and belief to the mission of Catholink.
“We have been in communication with ACN international since Catholink was launched and they have seen the relentless effort of the office and its volunteers. These have united the goals and aspirations of the two Church arm to reach those who are in need of help and information,” Fr. Pascual said.
ACN International, through ACN Philippines, gave a grant of EUR 15,000 or Php 864,542.41 for technology enhancement and promotion to help the Churches in the far-flung areas that experience difficulty in communication.
ACN is an International Catholic charity with the status of pontifical foundation based in Germany. ACN Philippines, meanwhile, is its local office in the country with Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Most Rev. Socrates Villegas, D.D. as president and Mr. Jonathan Luciano as national director.
Catholink is part of the initiatives of Radio Veritas in expanding the Church in multimedia and establish a center for information and communication as the Catholic Church prepares for the celebration of the 500 years of Christianity in the Philippines.
Formally launched in June 2016, the management system provides up to date, accurate and relevant information about the Catholic Church, its ministries and services in the Philippines. It helps the faithful to meet their pastoral needs by making the information about the Catholic Church, its ministries and services available to them, thus, bringing the Church near to every Catholic faithful around the globe.
Part of its information services is a referral system where people with pastoral concerns can turn to. Also, it caters faithful with inquiries through its live chat support and it makes resource guides available online for the general public to access through its website catholink.veritas846.ph.
