Pansamantalang kinansela ng mga diyosesis sa Bohol ang pagdiriwang ng mga Banal na Misa sa lahat ng parokya bilang pagsunod sa panawagan ng pamahalaan na iwasan ang malaking pagtitipon.
Sa pastoral statement nina Tagbilaran Bishop Alberto Uy at Talibon Bishop Daniel Patrick Parcon sinabi nitong sa pagninilay at gabay ng Banal na Espiritu mahalagang sumunod sa ipinatutupad ng gobyerno para na rin sa kaligtasan ng bawat mamamayan mula sa banta ng corona virus disease 2019.
“Even when it pains us to deprive you of the sacraments, but given the seriousness of the threat before us, we, your Bishops of the Dioceses of Tagbilaran and Talibon, having submitted ourselves under the guidance of the Holy Spirit in discernment, and having heard the assessment of the situation by authorities from the local government and the Department of Health, have decided that beginning March 18, Wednesday, there will no longer be public celebrations of the Holy Eucharist inside our churches and chapels. This directive will remain in force for an indefinite period of time, until things are deemed to have returned to normalcy. This is to ensure that “social distancing” is enforced, and consequently, the dispersion of the virus is avoided,” bahagi ng pastoral statement.
Sinabi ng mga punong pastol ng Bohol na sa gitna ng krisis na ito ay dapat huwag kalilimutan ng tao ang tunay na biyaya ng pananampalatayang hatid ni Kristo sa bawat isa ang pag-asa.
Sa pinakahuling tala ng Department of Health umabot na sa halos 200 ang bilang ng mga nagpositibo sa COVID 19, labing apat dito ang pumanaw na habang apat naman ang gumaling mula sa karamdaman at patuloy na inoobserbahan ang halos 20, 000 indibidwal na ‘people under investigation at people under monitoring.’
Anila, bagamat mas makapangyarihan ang Diyos kaysa anumang bagay sa mundo, mahalaga pa ring sumunod sa mga kinauukulan sa pagtugon sa nasabing suliranin.
Hinimok ng dalawang Obispo ang mamamayan na ipanalangin ang mga ekspertong naghahanap ng lunas upang masugpo na ang pagkalat ng COVID 19.
Bagamat kanselado tiniyak nina Bishop Uy at Bishop Parcon na magpapatuloy ang mga misa gamit ang makabagong uri ng komunikasyon tulad ng social media habang hinimok ang mananampalataya na tumanggap ng komunyong espiritwal sa pamamagitan ng mga panalangin.
“While public masses are suspended, we are asking our priests to continue to celebrate the Eucharist in private, inside our churches, even in the absence of a congregation. We are also temporarily dispensing the faithful of the entire province from the obligation to attend mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation. To the extent that it is viable, priests are enjoined to utilize the various instruments of mass media like radio, television and Facebook Live so that the faithful inside their homes can follow and unite themselves, in a prayerful and worthy manner, with the celebration of the Eucharist. Insofar as the actual reception of the Body of Christ is not possible at the moment, the faithful can make an act of spiritual communion by making the following prayer: “My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.”
Nilinaw ng mga obispo na mas pinahahalagahan nito ang kapakanang pangkalusugan ng mananampalataya at nakikiisa sa hakbang ng pamahalaan na pigilan ang pagkalat pa ng virus.
Kaisa rin ang diyosesis ng Tagbilaran at Talibon sa panawagan ng CBCP na pagpapatunog ng mga kampana tuwing alas dose ng tanghali at alas otso ng gabi hudyat ng sama-samang pagdarasal ng Banal na Rosaryo at ng Oratio Imperata laban sa COVID 19.
Dagdag pa dito kaakibat ng pananalangin ngayong kwaresma ang taos-pusong pagsisi at pagkakawanggawa sa kapwa gaya ng paglingap sa mga mahihirap lalo nitong panahon ng krisis sa bansa.
Hinimok din ang mga pari na panatilihing bukas ang mga simbahan para sa mga nais magdasal at makipag-usap sa Diyos partikular ang mga nagnanais humiling ng sakramento ng pangungumpisal at iba pa.
“We ask our priests, while exercising prudent care for their own safety and in cooperation with local government units, to make sure that the Church remains a refuge for those who are in need, especially in making available the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick. In the spirit of charity, we exhort everyone to avoid “panic buying” as it promotes undue and selfish concern for the self while being blind to the needs of others.
