Pormal ng magtatapos ang selebrasyon ng Year of Mercy sa Arkidiyosesis ng Maynila sa pamamagitan ng pagsasara ng Jubilee Door sa Manila Cathedral.
“In the Archdiocese of Manila, the Closing of the Jubilee Year of Mercy will be concluded with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist on November 13, at 6 in the evening with the Rite of the Closing of the Jubilee Door of Manila Cathedral,” ayon sa statement ng Archdiocese of Manila.
Bahagi ng selebrasyon ang sabay-sabay na pagsasara din ng Jubilee Door ng mga pilgrim churches sa Maynila sa ika-12 ng Nobyembre alas sais ng gabi.
Kasama sa isasara na Jubilee Door ang Archdiocesan Shrine of Divine Mercy sa Mandaluyong City, Santuario de Santo Cristo sa San Juan City alas sais ng gabi habang alas kwatro y medya naman ang National Shrine of the Sacred Heart of Jesus sa Makati City.
“The archdiocese also announced that the closing of the Jubilee Doors will mark the conclusion of the pilgrimages. Pilgrim’s passport will no longer be issued after November 12. Those who have completed their pilgrimage but have not yet gotten their certificates may go to any of the Jubilee Churches until November 30. Certificates will be issued to them provided they present their Pilgrim’s Passport with complete stamps. After November 30, the Jubilee Churches will no longer issue certificates.”
Alinsunod ito sa pagsasara din Holy Door sa St. Peter’s Square Basilica sa Vatican sa pangunguna ni Pope Francis sa ika-20 ng Nobyembre selebrasyon ng Kristong Hari.
Ito rin ang hudyat ng pagtatapos ng mga pilgrimages sa Maynila.
Kaugnay nito, isasara naman ang Jubilee Door ng Minor Basilica of Immaculate Conception o Manila Cathedral sa pamamagitan ng Banal na misa na pangungunahan ng Kanyang Kabunyian Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales sa ika-13 ng Nobyembre araw ng Linggo.
Patuloy ang malaking hamon sa mga mananamplataya na ang taon ng awa na ideneklara ni Pope Francis ay pagbibigay diin at halaga sa kahalagahan ng pagpapatawad, paghihilom at pakikipagkasundo upang tayo ay mapalapit sa Diyos.
Sa pangkabuuan ito ang pagtatapos ng selebrasyon ng Extra-Jubilee Year of Mercy para sa may mahigit 1.2 bilyong mga katoliko sa buong mundo.
“During this Holy Year of Mercy, His Holiness Pope Francis puts emphasis on the value of forgiveness, healing and reconciliation so we can be closer to God,” ayon pa sa statement.
