Pansamantalang pamumunuan ni Fr. Vicente Uy, SVD ang Diocese of Tagbilaran bilang caretaker matapos maging sede vacante ang diyosesis kaugnay ng pagtalaga kay Archbishop Alberto Uy sa Archdiocese of Cebu noong September 30.
Ayon sa diyosesis, si Fr. Uy ang itinalaga bilang tagapag-ingat dahil siya ang pinakamatandang pari ayon sa ordinasyon sa hanay ng College of Consultors.
“Fr. Vicente L. Uy, SVD, has assumed the role of caretaker of the diocese, being the most senior by ordination among the College of Consultors. This period of sede vacante is a time of prayer and unity for the Diocese of Tagbilaran,” pahayag ng diyosesis.
Itinakda ng Board of Consultors ang pagpili ng Diocesan Administrator sa darating na Sabado, Oktubre 4.
“The elected Diocesan Administrator will then oversee the spiritual and administrative affairs of the Diocese until the Holy Father appoints a new bishop,” dagdag pa ng pahayag.
Hinimok din ng diyosesis ang mananampalataya na ipagdasal ang pagtitipon ng mga consultors upang sa paggabay ng Espiritu Santo ay maihalal ang karapat-dapat na mamumuno sa diyosesis habang pansamantalang walang obispo.
