Ipinaalala ni Antipolo Bishop Ruperto Santos sa mga Pilipino na ang mga dukha ay biyaya at hindi pabigat o mga pasanin.
Ito ang mensahe ni Bishop Santos sa paggunita ng Simbahang Katolika sa World Day of the Poor tuwing buwan ng Nobyembre.
“In a world that often measures worth by wealth, status, or success, the Church stands as a prophetic voice, proclaiming that the poor are not a burden—they are a blessing. They are not on the margins of God’s heart—they are at its very center. Let us approach this with solidarity. Let us not merely offer charity, but seek communion.For when we draw near to the poor, we draw near to Christ Himself, who had nowhere to lay His head. When we listen to their stories, we hear echoes of the Gospel. When we break bread with them, we taste the Kingdom of God,” pagbabahagi ni Bishop Santos sa Radyo Veritas.
Inihayag ng Obispo na ang World Day of the Poor ay isang divine invitation upang muling tuklasin ang Gospel o mabuting balita sa mata ng mga naghihirap, mga nakalimutan at mga walang boses sa lipunan.
“November is here and let our hearts be summoned to a sacred remembrance—the World Day of the Poor. Instituted by Pope Francis, this day is not merely a date on the calendar, but a divine invitation to rediscover the Gospel through the eyes of the suffering, the forgotten, and the marginalized,” ayon sa mensaheng pinadala ni Bishop Santos sa Radyo Veritas.
Bilang pakikiisa, hinimok ng Obispo ang mga diyosesis, parokya, pamilya, paaralan at mga komunidad na lumikha ng mga programa na kakalinga, magpapakain at bigyang dangal ang buhay ng mga mahihirap.
Tiniyak ni Bishop Santos na higit na makikilala ng mga Pilipino ang panginoong Hesukristo sa pagtanggap at pagtulong sa mga mahihirap na makaahon sa kinalulugmukang kahirapan.
Ito ang ika-siyam na paggunita sa World Day of the Poor na may temang”‘You Are My Hope’”
