Nagpahayag ng suporta ang CBCP – NASSA / Caritas Philippines sa iba’t-ibang Church groups na kabilang sa nakararanas ng red-tagging o inuugnay ng pamahalaan sa makakaliwang grupo sa bansa.
Sa mensahe ng suporta na nilagdaan ni Kidapawan Bishop Jose Colin Bagaforo – chairman ng CBCP NASSA – Caritas Philippines, ibinahagi ng Obispo na tulad ng mandato ng pamahalaan ay tungkulin din ng Simbahan na tumulong sa lahat ng mga nangangailangan kasabay ng pagsusulong ng dignidad at mga karapatan ng bawat isa maging anuman ang lahi, paniniwala, pananampalataya at estado sa buhay.

Nilinaw ng Obispo na mula ng maitatag ang National Secretariat for Social Action-Justice and Peace (NASSA) ay mariing isinulong ng unang National Director na si Bishop Julio Labayen ang pagtugon sa kalagayan ng mga pinaka-mahihina at maliliit na sektor sa lipunan.
Iginiit ni Bishop Bagaforo na ito ang dahilan kung bakit aktibo ang mga lingkod ng Simbahan sa iba’t-ibang misyon at adbokasiya sa mga malalayo at liblib na kumunidad.
“Our very first National Director, Bishop Julio Labayen has urged us to always look upon the most vulnerable who can only be found in the impoverished, isolated communities. Therefore, we go where the need is great and the presence of those who serve is less.” Pagbabahagi pa ni Bishop Bagaforo.
Bunsod nito, binigyan diin ni Bishop Bagaforo na bilang social action arm ng Simbahan ay hindi mababago ang paninindigan ng NASSA/Caritas Philippines sa pagsuporta sa iba’t-ibang grupo ng Simbahan at maging ibang denominasyon na tumutulong sa mga biktima ng red-tagging.
“It is in this premise that we at NASSA/Caritas Philippines, the Catholic Church’s social action arm, strongly supports and firmly stands in solidarity with all the church groups maliciously and unfairly red-tagged by the different elements of government, and call on a more judicious exercise of power so as to see things in the light of unbiased action and truthful judgement.”paninindigan ni Bishop Bagaforo.
Matatandaang noong nakalipas na taon ay una ng isinapubliko ng pamahalaan ang nasa halos 50-communist front organizations kabilang na ang ilang mga church groups.
