Kailangang mangibabaw ang kapayapaan at pagkakaisa sa gitna ng krisis na dulot ng Coronavirus Disease 2019 pandemic sa buhay ng bawat isa.
Ito ang binigyang diin ni Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro Archbishop Emeritus Antonio Ledesma sa paggunita ng Mindanao Week of Peace mula ika-26 ng Nobyembre hanggang ika-2 ng Disyembre 2020.
Ayon sa Arsobispo, bukod sa pagharap sa kapahamakan na dulot ng armadong sagupaan sa rehiyon ng Mindanao ay patuloy din ang banta ng COVID 19 sa kaligtasan at buhay ng mamamayan.
“We are celebrating the Mindanao Week of Peace from November 26 to December 2 within the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and also the continuing armed conflict in several areas in Mindanao. Over the past 9-months we have tried to adapt to the new normal due to the pandemic such as wearing face mask, observing social distancing, avoiding public places. Many households have lost their sources of income, some have had death in the family other have gone to the hospital or restricted under quarantine procedure.” pahayag ni Archbishop Ledesma sa Radio Veritas.
Inihayag ng Arsobispo sa higit na kailangan ang pag-uugnay, pagkakaisa at pagtutulungan ng lahat ng Kristiyano, Muslim, mga Lumad at iba’t-ibang tribu upang mapagtagumpayan ang COVID-19 at matamo ang kapayapaan.
“In the midst of this pandemic we have come to realized first our interconnectedness and [it is important that] all of us Christian, Muslims and Lumad community, let us therefore reached out to all our brothers and sisters in need especially those who are found in isolated areas…”panawagan ni Archbishop Ledesma.
Tema ng ika-22 Mindanao Week of Peace ngayong taon ang “Dialogue Towards Harmony” na naglalayong patuloy na maisulong ang pagkakaroon ng matagal ng hinahangad na kapayapaan at pagkakasundo sa rehiyon ng Mindanao.
