Itinuturing na isang biyaya ng Diocese of Tarlac ang pagkilala ng Vatican at pagpuputong ng korona sa imahen ng Nuestra Señora Delos Dolores De Capas o mas kilala bilang Mater Dolorosa.
Ayon kay Tarlac Bishop Enrique Macaraeg, isang karangalan ang pagkilala ng Holy See sa imahen ng Mater Dolorosa matapos na aprubahan ng Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of Sacraments ang petisyon na inihain ng diyosesis noong October 1, 2020.
Ang pagpuputong ng korona sa Mater Dolorosa ay ang kauna-unahang imahe ng Mahal na Birhen ng Tarlac na binigyang pagkilala ng Vatican.
“It was my deepest honor as a Bishop of Tarlac to have petitioned to the Holy Father Pope Francis through the Congregation of Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments last July 2020 for the canonical coronation of the venerated image of the Mater Dolorosa in Barangay Dolores, Capas, Tarlac. The petition was granted last October 1, 2020 on the Feast of Saint Therese of the Child Jesus and of the Holy Face, giving the Diocese of Tarlac its very first Marian image to be canonically crowned.” pahayag ni Bishop Macaraeg.
Pinangunahan ng kinatawan ng Santo Papa ang Canonical Coronation ng imahe ng Nuestra Señora Delos Dolores De Capas ng Diocese of Tarlac na isinagawa sa San Sebastian Cathedral, Tarlac City.
Ayon kay Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines Archbishop Charles John Brown, sa pamamagitan ng Nuestra Señora Delos Dolores De Capas o mas kilala bilang Mater Dolorosa ay mauuwi kalaunan sa kagalakan ang anumang kalungkutan at pighati na itataas ng bawat isa sa Mahal na Birheng Maria.
“We bring our own difficulties, our sorrows, and disappointments and place them at her feet knowing that through Mary our sorrows will be transformed eventually into joy because yes, Mary is a Mater Dolorosa she’s the Mother of Sorrows, she’s a sorrowful Mother and she’s also the Queen of Heaven.” Ang bahagi ng pagninilay ni Archbishop Brown.
Ipinaliwanag ni Archbishop Brown na hindi kailanman dapat na pagdudahan ang paggabay ng Mahal na Birheng Maria lalo na sa oras ng kalungkutan at mga pagsubok sa buhay.
“We together with Mary have to bear our crosses, our sorrows but they will turn into joy because Jesus is the joy of our life and Mary is the mother of Jesus who brings that joy into the world.” Dagdag pa ni Archbishop Brown.
Ang 57-taong gulang na imahe ng Mahal na Birhen ay nakadambana sa Our Lady of Sorrows Parish na kalaunan ay tinaguriang Mater Dolorosa Parish sa Diocese of Tarlac.
Nagsimula ang debosyon sa Mater Dolorosa noong taong 1923 kung saan taong 2018 nang igawad sa imahe ang Episcopal Coronation.
Orihinal na nakatakda ang Canonical Coronation ng imahe ng Nuestra Señora Delos Dolores De Capas noong ika-31 ng Mayo ngunit kinailangang ipagpaliban kasunod ng 14 day mandatory quarantine si Archbishop Brown mula sa New York City.
