Pinangunahan ni Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Police General Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar ang pagdiriwang ng ika-29 na anibersaryo ng PNP-Chaplain Service.
Isinagawa sa PNP Multi-Purpose Center sa Camp Brigadier General Rafael T. Crame, Quezon City ang payak na programa para sa anibersaryo na mayroong temang ‘Strengthening the Faith and Providing Psychospiritual Needs of the PNP Personnel Amidst Pandemic’.
Ayon kay PNP Chaplain Service Director, Police Brig. General Rev. Fr. Jason Ortizo, makakaasa ang pamunuan ng Pambansang Pulisya ng Pilipinas sa pagsasakatuparan ng mandato ng PNP-Chaplain Service na gabayan ang mga kawani ng institusyon upang maging mabuting alagad ng batas.
Ibinahagi ni Fr. Ortizo na makalipas ang 29 na taon ay higit pang palalawigin ng PNP-Chaplain Service ang mga programa nito hindi lamang para sa mga kawani ng PNP na mga Kristiyano kundi maging para sa lahat at maging sa kanilang mga dependents o mga mahal sa buhay.
“It is with great honor and we are proud to proclaim that after 29 years the Chaplain Service has reached another milestone of pastoral services, as well as spiritual guidance and counseling to all PNP personnel and dependents regardless of any religious affiliation, through the years we carried out our primary responsibility abreast with our vision to attain a God-centered, service-oriented and family based PNP personnel,” pahayag ni Fr. Ortizo.
Sinabi ni Fr. Ortizo ba maituturing ang PNP-Chaplain Service bilang puso ng Pambansang Pulisya ng Pilipinas na patuloy na nagpapalakas sa pintig ng integridad ng institusyon at nagdadala sa mga kawani nito sa tamang direksyon.
“If we were to consider the PNP organization as one living entity, the Chaplain Service would stand as its heart, the heart that beats the integrity of the PNP institution, we would be the pilot that steers the integrity compass of the PNP personnel and their dependents,” dagdag pa ni Fr. Ortizo.
Nagsilbi namang panauhing pandangal sa pagdiriwang ng anibersaryo ng PNP-Chaplain Service si Diocese of Kidapawan Bishop Jose Colin Bagaforo – National Chairman ng NASSA/Caritas Philippines na siyang nanguna sa pagbibigay ng pagkilala sa Best Chaplain Service (CHS) Office at Best Chaplain Service Personnel mula sa iba’t ibang rehiyon.
Binigyang parangal din sa anibersaryo ang mga indibidwal mula sa iba’t ibang grupo dahil sa kanilang kontribusyon sa PNP-Chaplain Service lalo na sa mga usaping moral at ispiritwal.
Kabilang sa nabigyan ng pagkilala ang NASSA Caritas Philippines dahil sa suporta nito partikular na sa programang Ugnayan ng Simbahan at Pulisya (USAP) na tinanggap ni Rev. Fr. Anotonio Labiao Jr. – Executive Secretary of NASSA/Caritas Philippines.
Sa tala, aabot sa 190,000 ang bilang ng mga kawani ng Pambansang Pulisya ng Pilipinas na ginagabayan ng PNP-Chaplain Service mula sa iba’t ibang rehiyon sa buong bansa.
