Ang Mabuting Balita, 29 Oktubre 2023 – Mateo 22: 34-40
ANG DIYOS NA NASA ATIN
Noong panahong iyon, nagtipun-tipon ang mga Pariseo nang mabalitaan nilang napatahimik ni Jesus ang mga Seduseo. At isa sa kanila, isang dalubhasa sa Kautusan ang nagtanong kay Jesus upang subukin ito: “Guro, alin po ang pinakamahalagang utos sa Kautusan?” Sumagot si Jesus, “Ibigin mo ang Panginoon mong Diyos nang buong puso, nang buong kaluluwa, at nang buong pag-iisip. Ito ang pinakamahalagang utos. Ito naman ang pangalawa: “Ibigin mo ang iyong kapwa gaya ng iyong sarili. Sa dalawang utos na ito nakasalalay ang buong Kautusan ni Moises at ang turo ng mga propeta.”

Ang utusang umibig ay tila magkasalungat. Bakit tayo inuutusang umibig? Hindi ba dapat kusang loob ang umibig? Sa ibang bersyon ng biblia, nagsisimula ang bawat utos sa mga nakakatakot na salita na “Thou shall not.” Ang katotohanan nito, talagang INUUTUSAN tayo ng Diyos na sundin ang 10 Utos. Ito ay tulad ng mga simpleng batas trapiko na inuutusan tayong sundin. Hindi natin maaaring sabihin na kailangang kusang loob ang tumawid ng kalye kapag lamang ang ilaw trapiko ay berde, sapagkat kung ito’y susuwayin natin, tayo ay nasa peligro na masaktan o mamatay.
Tayo ba ay nasa peligro na masaktan o mamatay kung hindi tayo umibig? Kapag hindi tayo umiibig, lalo na kapag tayo ay puno ng poot at galit, hindi lamang ang mga taong kinapopootan natin ang masasaktan kundi at lalo na, ang ating sarili. Ang mapuno ng galit at kawalan ng kapatawaran ay magpapalungkot sa atin, tayo ay magkakasakit at tayo ay hindi makararanas ng kapayapaan. Kung ang minamahal natin ay ang ating sarili lamang, hindi malayong malulong tayo sa 7 Pinakamatinding Kasalanan ng kapalaluan, kainggitan, katakawan, kasakiman, kalibugan, kabatuganan, at kapootan. Wala tayong pakialam kung ano ang mangyayari sa ibang tao basta’t gagawin natin ang gusto nating gawin. Ito ang uri ng buhay na mauuwi sa kamatayang walang hanggan.
Sinasabi na mayroong mahigit na isang daang milyon na awit tungkol sa pag-ibig sa buong mundo, at maaaring hindi pa kasama rito ang mga hindi nailathala; at mga awit na may pamagat na, “Love Makes the World Go `Round,” “Love Changes Everything,” “Love is a Song that never ends,” “Love is a Many-Splendored Thing,” ay nagpapakita na tunay ngang kailangan nasa sentro ng ating buhay ang Pag-ibig kung nais natin magkaroon ng makabuluhan at masayang buhay. Para kay Sta. Teresa ng Lisieux, lahat tayo ay may iisang bokasyon o tawag: ANG UMIBIG, at nararanasan natin ang kaganapan ng buhay kung tayo ay umiibig. Siyempre, ito ay dahil ang DIYOS AY PAG-IBIG MISMO. Kapag tayo ay umiibig, inilalabas natin ANG DIYOS NA NASA ATIN. Kung lahat ng mga Kristiyano ay tunay na umiibig, ang pag-ibig ng Diyos ay dadami at maraming tao ang makikinabang dito, tulad ng mga batang pinalaki ng kanilang mga magulang o ng mga kahalili ng kanilang mga magulang, sa isang kapaligiran na puno ng pag-ibig; Tiyak na matututo silang umibig sa kanilang paglaki.
O Panginoon, nawa’y ang aming buhay ay mapuno ng iyong pag-ibig upang ang aming mundo ay maging napakagandang tirahan!
