Handa na ang Arkidiyosesis ng Maynila para sa ikatlong Philippine Conference on New Evangelization o PCNE 3 na gagawin sa ika- 15 hanggang ika-17 ng Hulyo ngayong taon sa Quadri-Centennial Pavilion ng University of Santo Tomas.
Ayon kay Peachy Yamsuan, head ng Archdiocesan Office of Communications ng Archdiocese of Manila, unang inorganisa ng kanyang Kabunyian Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle ang PCNE noong Year of Faith na idineklara ni Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI.
Inihayag ni Yamsuan na ang tema ng selebrasyon ay “Awa, Unawa, Gawa: The Filipino Experience of Mercy.”
“The PCNE was first organized by Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio G. Cardinal Tagle in celebration of the Year of Faith declared by Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, and a deeper look at new evangelization for the Church for the renewal and strengthening of faith. This new evangelization, according to Saint John Paul II is “one that is new in its ardor, new in its methods, and new in its expression.” The PCNE aims to draw out these new ways through its program and activities,”pahayag ni Yamsuan sa Radio Veritas.
Tampok sa tatlong araw na conference ang “heart to heart conference” kay Cardinal Tagle para sa kanyang mga stories of mercy.
“The three-day conference features a “Heart-to-Heart” conference with Cardinal Tagle where he will listen to stories of Mercy. There will also be talks on the Cultural-Anthropological View of Mercy. The first day Mass will be a Misa ng Nazareno where the delegates to the World Youth Day in Poland will be commissioned. On the second day there will be a Youth Concert with the Cardinal.”
Tulad ng mga nakaraang PCNE, magkakaroon ng mga concurrent sessions na tatalakay sa basic ecclesial communities o BEC, pamilya, trabaho, kabataan, kalikasan, refugees migrants, at sektor ng katutubo.
Ngayon 2016, nagdiriwang ang Simbahang Katolika ng taon ng awa, Extraordinary Jubilee year of mercy kung saan ang may 16-milyong Yolanda survivors ang unang nakatanggap ng awa at habag mula kay Pope Francis sa kanyang pagbisita sa bansa.
